Briana DeJesus vs. Ashley Jones: Teen Mom Feud EXPLODES on Twitter!

When the Teen Mom franchise first premiered on MTV, it focused on the relatable struggles of far-flung, mostly small-town young women as they faced the challenges of new motherhood.

These days, the show has taken on a very different tone, due in large part to how famous its stars have become.

Gone are the days when the OG moms and their successors struggled with finances and career frustrations.

As the ladies of Teen Mom became wealthy and well-known their financial and family issues gave way to a different sort of conflict as the stars began to publicly lock horns with another.

Briana DeJesus and Ashley Jones are the latest moms to clash on social media, and it's looking like we may be in for the franchise's most epic feud to date.

Here's what we know so far about this epic clash of the titans ...

1. Innocent Beginnings

It all started with a single tweet. On Saturday night, Briana sent this message out to the world: “I f-ckkkkkkkeddddd uppppppppp.”

2. Cryptic Words

It's still not quite clear exactly what Briana meant by that, but one fellow MTV star was quick to chime in with her interpretation.

3. Ashley Sounds Off

“By f-cking Javi," Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant star Ashley Jones tweeted in reply to Briana's mysterious remark.

4. Kail Gets Involved

Naturally, Bri's original rival, Kailyn Lowry, couldn't resist expressing her approval of Ashley's comments.

5. Talking Trash

At first, Briana didn't respond, so Ashley kept baiting her by clashing with fans who stepped in to defend DeJesus.

6. Making Herself Clear

"I’m referring to her fuxking her co workers / friends ex husband," Jones tweeted to one fan who dared to defend Bri. "Good try tho. I’m unbothered. Also. This tweet was to @_BrianaDejesus. Not you. Don’t like it. SCROLL."

Teen Mom Young & Pregnant: Renewed For Season 2 Even Though No One Watched It!

Remember when MTV showed music videos?

Ha! Of course you don't; that was literally forever ago.

But you might remember a time when the network showed something other than round-the-clock Teen Mom with the occasional Catfish thrown in.

Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant Cast

Well, those days are officially over, as MTV is now one step closer to celebrating bad decisions on a 24/7 basis,

According to The Ashley's Reality Roundup, Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant -- aka the spinoff no one asked for or seemed to have any interest in -- has officially been renewed for a second season.

If you're keeping score at home that brings the total number of 16 and Pregnant spinoffs to a whopping 79.

Just kidding, it's four. But still ...

The fact that some exec looked at the channel's current lineup and said, "What we need? More unfit mothers!" is truly baffling.

But hey, TV is TV and ratings will always be the name of the game.

Which is one reason why the Young and Pregnant renewal is so unexpected.

The show had a very difficult time finding an audience in its first several weeks on the air.

Things turned around later in the season, but with more original content on the air than ever before, TV execs are much less likely to give struggling shows a second chance these days.

Adding to the surprise is the fact that the series is already having problems with disgruntled cast members.

Earlier this week, Young and Pregnant star Ashley Jones bashed producers on Instagram, accusing them of manipulating footage to make her look like a bad mom.

“The whole season I was edited to look like a monster," Jones wrote.

"Joining this show was by far the worst decision of my life.”

She added:

“No trust for the producers or anyone else that works on the show and knows the kind of person that I am but says nothing to editing.”

Producers are used to that kind of talk from the likes of Jenelle Evans.

But Jenelle has been consistently delivering big ratings for over a decade.

Ashley, on the other hand, is much newer to the business and much more inconsistent in the ratings department.

It's not hard to see how producers may have decided that Jones and fellow hot-tempered cast member

"A crew is up there with Ashley and will be filming throughout this week,” a source tells The Ashley.

“All the girls will be either starting to film or continuing to film over the next few weeks.”

The insider adds that while their exact salaries remain a mystery, the girls all got raises -- and the second season is usually when the big money starts rolling in:

"Generally, for the other Teen Mom shows, the pay jump from Season 1 to Season 2 has been the most significant jump,” \

Man, those MTV PSAs about the downsides of teen pregnancy are getting less and less convincing by the day!

(Note to high school kids: We're joking. Getting pregnant will almost certainly not make you rich.)

Ashley Jones Slams MTV: Being on Teen Mom Ruined My Life!

The Teen Mom/16 and Pregnant franchise has been a source of constant controversy since day one.

Some critics complained that the show glamorized teen pregnancy for an impressionable audience, while others have argued that the shows are exploitative and take advantage of young women at the most vulnerable points in their lives.

Lending credence to the latter argument is the fact that many of the moms who have appeared on the series have publicly clashed with producers, often complaining that they were villainized and intentionally misrepresented.

Jenelle Evans has lashed out at producers on social media, even going so far as to accuse them of negatively affecting the outcomes of her many custody battles.

Farrah Abraham was recently fired by MTV, and she's since seized every opportunity to call out Teen Mom OG showrunners as manipulative opportunists.

And now, one of the franchise's newest stars has added her voice to the chorus of outrage.

Ashley Jones was featured on the first season of Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant.

And as The Ashley's Reality Roundup points out, Jones was very unhappy with the way she was portrayed on the series.

When the above photo of Ashley appeared on Instagram, she took to the comments section to air her frustrations:

“I love how the other girls are all smiling and happy and you choose to post none of those happy moments for me,” Ashley wrote.

“The whole season I was edited to look like a monster. Joining this show was by far the worst decision of my life.”

She added:

“All those hours of filming and all the positivity I spread and y’all didn’t show any of it.

“No trust for the producers or anyone else that works on the show and knows the kind of person that I am but says nothing to editing.”

Jones also stated that the fights between her and her boyfriend, Bar Smith, that were shown on the series were entirely scripted.

“If you want to see how me and Bar really are, on a daily basis without these edited ass scripted fights join my YouTube channel,”  she wrote.

Jones went on to allege that there was a racial component to the biased editing, writing:

“It’s funny how the black girl is always made to look mad and ignorant."

Some fans were sympathetic, but most seemed to feel that it was Jones who made herself look bad, not the show's editors:

"YOU made yourself look mad and ignorant,” wrote one viewer. “Has nothing to do with you being black!"

“If you would have checked out all the other [‘Teen Mom] social media accounts beforehand you would have known how to act appropriately when the cameras were around so they don’t make you look like a trashy monster,” chimed in another.

Ashley may not wish to return for another season, but she certainly proved she's capable of carrying on a proud Teen Mom tradition by clashing with fans on social media!

Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant – Meet the Controversial Cast!

Over the years, many critics have blasted MTV for the creation of the Teen Mom franchise.

These individuals have questioned whether it was a great idea to make celebrities out of young women who were expecting babies, thereby glorifying a development that may be the most challenging one a person can face.

It's now clear that the cable network has considered these objections, weighed them carefully...

... and then totally and completely ignored such chatter for the sake of ratings.

On Monday night, MTV debuted the first teaser for Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant, a redundantly named spinoff of Teen Mom; which, itself, was a spinoff of 16 and Pregnant.

(Remember the days when MTV actually aired music videos? Neither do we.)

According to the official network announcement, the series will track the lives of five expecting women and "show the highs and lows of their pregnancy journeys -- and the unbelievable changes they endure after the babies are born.

"From excitement to fear, this group of girls will take viewers inside their emotional lives."

Because this is exactly what vulnerable teenager who are about to become parents really need: to share their emotional lives with millions of strangers.

mom, baby

MTV goes on to write that "Teen Mom OG and Teen Mom 2 women have shown us through the years... [that] worlds are about to change forever and [when] it's time to "mom up."

Yes, mom up.

MTV just turned parenthood into a catchphrase.

We're shocking it didn't include a hashtag along with it.

Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant will premiere on Monday, March 12 at 10/9c, following a new installment of Teen Mom OG.

Check out the preview below:

As for the young women at the center of the upcoming reality show?

Prepare to meet them below...

Ashley, 20: Described as a typical party girl in Las Vegas, she and her boyfriend, Bariki (Bar) recently found out they were having a baby.

Their own mothers are "constantly at odds," MTV teases, which not only causes issues within their relationship, "but palpable friction between Bar and Ashley’s mom."

Brianna, 17: She and her transgender boyfriend Danae have always had an up-and-down relationship. During one split, Brianna slept with an old friend and got pregnant.

However, now Danae is back in the picture and has vowed to raise the baby as his own... yet Brianna’s mom questions Danae’s ability to support her child.

Jade, 20: From an unstable relationship with her parents to her boyfriend Sean, Jade has always taken care of others, the network writes.

Now that she’s expecting her first baby, she's aware that she’ll need her parents support more than ever and she's worried that she won’t be able to rely on them.

Kayla, 18: Described as "the girl next door," Kayla apparently had a rude awakening when she discovered she was expecting.

Kayla was raised by a single mother and therefore understands the sacrifices and struggles such a life requires.

While her own pregnancy wasn’t planned, Kayla was excited to have a baby with her long-time boyfriend, Stephan.

But now she's struggling with the choice to stay in the relationship for the sake of her baby or raise the little one on her own.

Lexi, 17: From a small town, she's the head cheerleader and she's part of a supportive and loving family.

She also got pregnant by her boyfriend of four years, Kyler.

As a result, she feels isolated from her friends and has become the subject of her small, conservative town’s gossip mill.

MTV asks: Will she be able to recover her reputation, or will she forever be known as the good girl gone bad?

Will you be tuning in for Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant?
