Ashton Kutcher Says He Keeps In Touch With Demi Moore’s Daughters After ‘Helping Raise’ Them

You probably don’t have to wonder too hard how Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore are getting along these days.

In her tell-all memoir Inside Out, Demi spilled an entire Boston Tea Party’s worth of piping hot tea about her ex, including ruining their marriage with threesomes and then full-on cheating. She even accused him of encouraging her to fall off the wagon and start drinking again — which she says contributed to her miscarriage.

Like we said, it’s some pretty scalding stuff, and so we were not shocked on Monday when Ashton appeared on Marc Maron‘s WTF podcast and told the host of the current state of his relationship with his ex:

“We don’t hang out.”

LOLz! We bet!

What we did find surprising was what he had to say about Demi’s daughters:

“I make a really conscious effort to stay in touch with the girls.”

The girls? Wait, really??

Yes, Ashton speaks about the adult daughters of Demi and Bruce Willis like a true stepfather, even going so far as to say he helped raise them.

It’s hard not to conjure a mental image of the That ’70s Show star in his mid-20s raising 31-year-old Rumer Willis, 28-year-old Scout Willis, and 26-year-old Tallulah Willis. LOLz!

But in the interview the actor/entrepreneur reminds us he started dating Demi all the way back in 2003 — back when these grown women were still quite young.

“It was eight years… Tallulah was eight or nine, she was the youngest. Rumer was 12 or 13 when we first started dating.”

Despite his age difference with their mom, Ashton paints himself as a legit father figure to the sisters. The way he tells it:

“I was helping raise teenage girls through their adolescence.”

As young as Ashton still seems, we suppose it’s true he was that guy in their lives for nearly a decade.

However, the Ranch actor does make a point of saying he was never trying to replace their real father:

“I think you try… but at the same time I am not their father. I was never trying to be their father. I always had respect and honored Bruce, and I think he’s a brilliant human being and a wonderful man.”

These days Ashton says he still does everything he can to support them:

“I love them. And I’m never going to stop loving them, right? And respecting them and honoring them and rooting for them to be successful in whatever they’re pursuing.”

So how do the Willis sisters feel about his continued presence in their lives all these years later? He says:

“If they don’t want an engagement with me, I’m not going to force it upon them. But they all do and it’s great.”

Aw, that’s sweet.

And convenient! In just a few short years Ashton and Mila Kunis‘ 5-year-old daughter Wyatt will be a teenage girl, and Daddy already has a lot of experience with that.
