Bachelor in Paradise grew very dark on Monday night.
We mean this literally.
The lighting was simply awful as the show depicted the fallout from last week's pinata-based fight between Jordan and Christian.
From what we could glean, Jordan began the altercation by messing with the pinata Christian had set up for his date with Nicole.
Christian then attacked Jordan... and Jordan retaliayed... and they scuffled... and then at one point Christian went charging across the beach to go after Jordan.
It was all a pretty confusing mess -- and that's before we even stop to wonder just who the heck Christian is. Does anyone out there know?
In the end, however, both men were sent home because Chris Harrison said fighting wasn't allowed and that was that.
As for the second rose ceremony of the season?
Even with these two men gone, he women still had to send home another pair of guys last night.
However, Onyeka Ehie then jumped in and made an announcement that changed the entire game once again.
“I came here with the highest expectations,” she told the group before the rose ceremony started, continuing as follows:
“I really wanted to meet someone here and I’ve been pretty unhappy here and it’s been for a while, and I can’t give out a rose to anyone tonight. And I’m really sorry. I’m very sure. I love you all, girls and guys. I’ve made amazing friends, so I am not leaving here with nothing.
Yup, Onyeka Ehie just quit.
After that bombshell exploded on the cast, all attention became focused on Hannah Godwin. To whom would she give her rose?!?
Godwin spent the cocktail party eating gummy worms with Dylan Barbour, yet also danced to a mariachi band with Blake Horstmann.
Ultimately, Hannah made the decision that her colleagues were pushing... and chose Dylan.
But while everyone then hoped that Blake would be sent home, his ex Kristina Schulman actually stepped up and gave him her rose, explaining her decision in a subsequent confessional.
“I want Blake to stick around and find love,” Kristina claimed to the cameras, adding:
“That’s what you’re here for, but then Blake would have to watch Hannah and Dylan together. He accepted my rose. In a way he’s choosing to stay in his personal hell. It’s kind of mean but it’s Blake we’re talking about. The temptation is too good.”
This series of events meant that Wills Reid, Cam and Kevin Fortenberry all had to pack their bags and leave Mexico.
For his part, Blake was happy to stick around.
And he made it clear he wasn't giving up on Godwin, either.
"I’m still really, really, really into Hannah,” he said on air, prior to a yoga date with Caitlin Clemmens from Colton Underwood’s season of The Bachelor. “She’s somebody who I can see a future with. But Hannah decided she wanted to pursue Dylan and that’s a real bummer."
Dylan, meanwhile, received a date card of his own and took out Hannah.
During their meal, he professed his feelings for the woman he’d been fighting for since the start of Paradise.
“I’m starting to fall in love with you,” he told Godwin.
“I am all in,” Hannah replied.
Back on the beach...
Demi Burnett felt more torn than ever between Derek Peth and Kristian, that woman who she was dating back at home prior to landing in Paradise.
Who would help her figure things out?
None other than the most recent Bachelorette, Hannah Brown!
The beloved ex-beauty queen paid Paradise a visit to help her talk through the situation. After conferring with her pal, Demi sat down with Derek.
“I’m so confused,” she told him, going on as follows:
“I have this girl that I can’t stop thinking about and then I have you, an amazing guy, in front of me that has blown my mind with how great of a person you are. And I’m trying to figure it out but right now I’m just really torn.”
Derek responded to Demi by saying it was “tough” to hear how she “downplayed” her feelings for Kristian.
“The hardest part about this is knowing that there’s someone else who’s pulling on her emotions,” he added in an on-camera interview, wrapping up his segment like this:
“It doesn’t matter who this other person is, right? It’s just somebody else who Demi has an emotional connection to. I’m super hopeful that it just doesn’t end.”
Bachelor in Paradise airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8/7c on ABC.
