Much of this season of The Kardashians has focused upon Scott Disick and his big boy feelings.
Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker’s joyous proposal and engagement were aired in tandem with Scott processing the news.
Whether he was talking it out with Kourtney or trying to manipulate Kendall about it, Scott was part of the narrative.
Kourtney is pretty pissed that her ex took center stage.
Scott Disick and his angst have not gone unnoticed to The Kardashians viewers.
Family friend Stephanie Shepherd spoke to TooFab about how irked Kourtney and Travis were.
“We film and have the best time ever,” Kourtney told Stephanie. “And we’ve been watching the edits … and we’re just so annoyed.”
Kourtney expressed her annoyance “because they’re swirling us in with this drama.”
“Especially when I saw my engagement episode,” she added.
Kourtney lamented: “Editors or whoever are taking it as, ‘Let’s take Kourtney, she’s the chosen one to be the drama.’”
Now, the Kardashian sisters are executive producers on the Hulu series.
This means that they can screen the series before it airs, in order to preserve the integrity of their brands and storylines.
In other words, like a Real Housewife (for example), they have editorial powers that are rare in the reality TV world.
Even Travis’ proposal to Kourtney felt overshadowed by everyone fretting over Scott’s feelings — at least, if you watched the show.
“That night I wasn’t like, ‘God, everyone’s such f–king assholes for bringing up this,’” Kourtney recalled after her sisters brought up her ex at her engagement party.
she explained: “because it wasn’t a part of the night, it was like two seconds of the night.”
“I didn’t even remember it until I saw the cut of the episode,” Kourtney admitted.
“It wasn’t like 50% of the night,” she said, “like it’s made to be on an episode.”
In retrospect, Kourtney expressed: “I wish they would take that out and put in the next episode, give us our respect, so it’s like, let us have our moment.”
“I’m like, why is the fairytale not being told? The true fairytale that it is,” Kourtney noted.
“I don’t want to be insensitive,” she added.
“It is all good,” Kourtney stressed, “we’ve been broken up for seven years.”
“I’m allowed to create new memories and new ways of doing things,” Kourtney correctly affirmed.
In contrast, she felt that the edit was going out of its way to emphasize the “old” narrative of Scott wallowing in his emotions about their past.
“It’s enabling this old narrative and buying into something that doesn’t exist,” Kourtney reasoned.
“It should be an empowering episode about me getting out of toxic relationships,” Kourtney expressed.
“And,” she continued, “really having this fairytale love story that is my reality.”
Is she right? Or is this one of those instances where a more honest edit would be a disservice to the show?
The fact of the matter is that a lot of people who watch the show are invested in Scott’s feelings, even if they don’t want to see Kourtney back with him.
And the show needs to acknowledge that. The Kardashians aren’t in a cult, aren’t grappling with poverty, and none of them are trying to scam each other.
When you can’t rely upon absurd situations like some other shows can, well, editing needs to take over and give viewers what they want.
We all know, frankly, more than we needed to about Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker’s relationship.
While the world has heard and seen a lot from the now-married couple themselves and from Kourtney’s whiny ex, they’re not the only ones involved.
Kourtney’s kids are still pretty young, and while their parents split seven years ago, this new phase of their mom’s life is an adjustment.
Fortunately, Mason is taking it so well that he’s offering comforting advice to his cousin, North West, now that her own parents have broken up.
On Season 1, Episode 8 of The Kardashians, Kris Jenner showed off her fridge and freezer setup to Kim.
Kim then gave her momager some news, recalling an adorable car ride with 12-year-old Mason Disick.
Mason, she shared, had asked to be dropped by Travis Barker’s studio, which led to a cute conversation between cousins.
“His tune has totally changed since the engagement,” Kim praised.
“I heard him say to North, ‘You know, getting a stepdad isn’t so bad.’”
Kim continued to quote Mason: “‘You know, they’re not these evil people you see in the movies. It’s just not like that.’”
Kim noted that Mason was “excited” to see Travis upon being dropped off at his studio.
She told Kris about this, watching her process this sweet exchange between her grandchildren.
Mason wasn’t just sharing his very mature and optimistic feelings about his mom — he was also reassuring North, who is in a new situation herself.
Kim spoke to the confessional camera about how this made her feel.
“After hearing this conversation with Mason and North and hearing how he’s getting along with Travis and loving someone else around,” she began.
Kim reflected: “I’m like, OK, there’s hope.”
“One day, I’ll have someone that can come around and hang with the kids,” Kim affirmed, as if speaking it into being.
Obviously, this meant that Pete was definitely mentioned during this episode, with Kim admitting that she has been “secretive” about him.
But this line isn’t about any one man, not even Pete — it’s about her looking forward to a future where she can find a partner who is not Kanye West.
Of course, Kanye is the one who loudly declared that Pete will “never” meet his children.
It could have been anything that set him off, but apparently a tattoo of former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton is what sent Kanye spiraling.
While we can acknowledge that some of Ye’s paranoia and outbursts are the result of his mental illness, we can also note that he has made choices to avoid treatment, subjecting his loved ones to the consequences.
Things may be on the mend in that department, but no one is really holding their breath for Kanye to totally turn around his whole personality.
Mason’s enlightened wisdom about Kourtney and Travis’ engagement may have stemmed from several things, from Travis being a cool dude to Mason’s own maturity.
But it’s likely that Scott, grudgingly or not, said words of encouragement to his son. Would Kanye ever do the same for his children and a man who is dating Kim?
Kravis would approve! Late Sunday night, Kim Kardashian treated her fans with an intimate look inside her relationship with comedian Pete Davidson. Posting to her Instagram Stories, the mom-of-four shared some sweet, steamy snaps of herself and her SNL alum boyfriend sharing a smooch and being playful for the camera. Very few of us can relate to world-famous supermodel multimillionaires, but Kendall Jenner has one element of Millennial relatability that her siblings lack:
She doesn’t have kids. She’s the only one of Kris Jenner’s progeny who remains childfree.
On this week’s episode of The Kardashians, we saw Kris aim to change that.
If Kendall’s not ready to pop out a marketable grandbaby, Momager Dearest wants Kendall to freeze her eggs.
On Season 1, Episode 7 of The Kardashians, Kris Jenner found herself in an unenviable position — as the bearer of bad news.
She had been contacted because Vogue wanted Kim for the cover, not Kendall. That is awkward as their mom and as their manager.
But Kendall handled the news gracefully. The awkward part came next.
Kris suggested that perhaps it is time for Kendall to think about something else.
Maybe giving Kris a grandbaby — since Kendall is the only one of her brood who has not.
Kendall began to choke on her drink, because of all of the things that her mom might bring up, this was not what she expected.
She is perfectly happy to not have any kids.
Not only is she a working professional and a complete person on her own, but she’s also only 26 — and may have only been 25 when this was filmed.
Kendall explained to the confessional camera that she is doing just fine.
She is making her own choices and finding herself.
Kendall isn’t dedicated to remaining childfree for life — or, if she is, she’s not saying so. She’s just not in a rush.
Speaking to Kris, Kendall reminded her that it’s her life and her body.
If Kris were being more sincerely pushy here (and were making these comments off-camera), this could be a more serious case of someone needing boundaries.
There are, after all, real people who think that their adult children somehow “owe” them grandchildren.
Instead, Kris was just being playfully pushy because they’re filming, and you’re not really supposed to hold back on reality TV.
Meanwhile, Kendall told the camera that she’s more than content to continue living life on her own for now.
She was diplomatic enough to resist pointing out that Kylie getting knocked up as a teen was never part of the plan, otherwise she wouldn’t be the only odd man out.
Kris decided to drop what we’re going to call an Egg Fact.
She cited that when she was pregnant with Kendall, Kendall’s eggs formed inside her — all before her birth.
That is true. While sperm are continuously generated in testes, ova are present from birth and are never generated again — only released.
Kendall knew this already.
While most of us know this from getting “the talk” when we’re like five, or from various biology classes or health classes growing up, Kendall cited a different source.
TikTok, the algorithmic nightmare app, had apparently reminded her of this recently.
The way that Kris had told her this indicated to Kendall that Kris had also seen the same TikTok video.
Kendall was delighted to gain this bit of insight into her mother’s social media habits.
This, however, was when Kris opted to call the family doctor — over Kendall’s objections — to get her input.
“For Kendall, if she has a partner and they’re not married, I usually recommend at least a cycle of egg freezing,” Dr. A stated.
“It’d be a good time to freeze eggs,” the doctor opined. “The younger you are, the better quality.”
True though that may be, releasing eggs to be extracted and frozen is not as simple as producing a sperm sample. It’s not a terrible idea, but … there’s no rush.
Back in December of 2021, Tristan Thompson was sued for paternity by a Houston-based personal trained named Maralee Nichols.
Tristan claimed that the kid was not his son, but to the surprise of absolutely no one, it turned out that he had indeed knocked Maralee up.
Thankfully, by the time word got out about the lawsuit, Khloe had already cut ties with her philandering baby daddy.
But the court case was still rather humiliating for KoKo, as it was revealed that Tristan had impregnated Maralee while the two of them were still dating.
This came as no surprise to most observers — after all, Tristan had already been caught cheating on Khloe twice before — but the news reportedly stunned Khloe, who believed Thompson when he assured her that his cheating days were behind him.
That context makes a scene from the newest installment of The Kardashians all the more infuriating.
Khloe and Tristan are working out in Kim’s gym — or Kimberly’s gymberly, if you prefer — when Khloe remarks on the sad fates of her sisters’ relationships.
“Scott [Disick] is never leaving. Kanye [West] is never leaving. It looks like you’re never leaving,” Khloe remarked to Tristan with a laugh.
“We’re all here forever.”
“More like you’re never leaving me,” Tristan rather smugly replied.
Khloe, who appeared to be caught off guard by the statement, laughed and remarked, “Oh, okay,”
“I think either way it goes, we’re family for life,” Khloe continued. “But I think it’s such a beautiful thing.”
Needless to say, Khloe probably changed her thinking about Tristan’s continued involvement in her life after learning that he impregnated another woman during their relationship.
And it seems that we’ll soon find out exactly how she reacted to the news, as a Hulu camera crew was on hand when Khloe found out that Tristan had cheated on her yet again.
“Well for that particular moment, my crew was there,” The Kardashians executive producer Danielle King said in a recent interview with Us Weekly.
“We were there to film something else early in the morning and the morning that news broke, we legitimately just happened to be there,” she added, noting that there is “almost always a camera going.”
For her part, Khloe now insists that she’s through with Tristan and will not be offering him any more second chances.
“I think he’s a great guy and a great dad, he’s just not the guy for me,” she said during a recent interview with Robin Roberts of Good Morning America.
“With Tristan, I did feel incredibly safe in the beginning. I felt really good for a time.”
From there, Khloe recalled the ultimate betrayal, when Tristan cheated on her while she was pregnant.
“I remember when he cheated on me before I gave birth and I still was able to have him in the delivery room,” she told Roberts.
“Yes, it might’ve looked strange to the outside world, but when my daughter watches my home videos of it, those videos are going to be as pure as I was able to make them.”
So we guess Tristan has done worse than impregnate another woman while dating Khloe.
But he certainly shouldn’t be praised for setting the bar so ridiculously low.
While last week’s The Kardashians was largely about Kim Kardashian’s life after Kanye, it ended with a fight.
Scott Disick’s paranoia about being iced out of the family led to a fight with Kendall Jenner, who has been in his corner for a while.
On this week’s episode, we saw the aftermath of that.
Kourtney isn’t interested in discussing Scott and his big boy feelings, but as her sisters explain to her, this has to be resolved.
Scott Disick’s questioning if he would even be invited to Thanksgiving led to an inquisition about Kendall Jenner’s birthday celebration.
She didn’t have a big party — which is why he wasn’t invited. She has also been speaking up for him in family gatherings.
Despite that, he wouldn’t give her time to get a word in edgewise, and Kendall left the very non-productive conversation in a huff.
Kris Jenner was a witness to the entire dispute.
Scott angrily told her that if they all feel that he “shouldn’t be a part of this family anymore, I’d rather not be a part of it.”
Kris reminded him that’s not how literally anyone feels.
“Kendall’s stuck in the middle so that’s not fair to do to her, either,” Kris told Scott.
“She feels terrible … you can’t make somebody do or feel what you want them to do,” she reminded him.
Kris affirmed that “It’s only gonna get better and better,” though Scott argued that things could still get worse.
Kris also spoke to the confessional camera about the entire exchange.
“I don’t like it when anybody’s arguing, especially my kids,” she noted.
“And,” Kris emphasized, “Scott really needs to get ahold of his emotions right now and not get so rattled.”
Kendall followed that dispute by driving over to Kourtney’s house, relating the conversation to Kourtney and to Khloe.
“Scott’s like, ‘What’s going on for Thanksgiving? Obviously, I’m not invited,’ and immediately it’s hostile,” she described.
Kendall lamented: “He’s talking through me the whole time, and I’m like, ‘I don’t do that.'”
“I’ve been in enough toxic relationships, I can’t stand it anymore. I shut off,” Kendall stressed.
“So I stand up and I’m like, ‘I’m out of here,'” she narrated.
Kendall continued: “At the end of the day, it’s really not my place, it’s about [those] two.”
“He was victimizing himself,” Kendall explained to the confessional camera.
“He was villainizing everybody else including me, which I have no ill intention towards him,” she pointed out.
“And I love him and would always want him around,” Kendall emphasized, “so it just caught me off guard.”
Kourtney did not seem very “present,” as people insufferably insist upon calling “paying attention,” for the conversation.
“I just don’t have the energy for this,” she admitted of the Scott drama after casually flipping through her phone.
“My head is on a different planet and I feel like I’m living a different life,” Kourtney explained. “I am unsubscribing from this drama.”
Khloe was not seeing eye to eye with her eldest sister, however.
“I told you this weeks ago! We think you need to talk to Scott and set some real boundaries because everyone else is in the middle,” she reminded her.
“I do think you should say, ‘Hey, moving forward, stop talking to my family about things,'” Khloe recommended.
Khloe advised Kourtney to tell Scott: “‘You ask me if I’m comfortable, stop putting everyone else in the middle.’ Done.”
She added: “You’re supposed to be the boss here.”
Khloe then acknowledged: “He’s not going to [Kourtney], cause he knows he cant get s–t out of her.”
“So he’s gonna go to [Kendall], the least combative,” Khloe explained.
“But that’s so f–ked up he’s gonna prey on you,” she warned.
Khloe expressed: “That’s actually really f–king rude.”
Sometimes, the fine line between “sweet” and “stalking” hinges entirely upon the receiver of attention.
That is on our minds after the revelationon on this week’s The Kardashians.
Travis Barker bought a new home in Calabasas in 2017, nearly four years before he and Kourtney Kardashian began dating.
Apparently, even at the time, he made the purchase and the move because he “knew” that Kourtney was the love of his life.
On Season 1, Episode 5 of The Kardashians, Kris Jenner dropped by for a visit with her eldest, Kourtney.
Kourtney is of course happily engaged to Travis Barker — a proposal that was documented on the Hulu series and widely celebrated by her fans.
Kourt did admit to having accidentally damaged her ring, so she obscured it with her hand during filming and shared that she would get it repaired.
The engagement ring was not just any piece of jewelry.
Travis had it designed himself.
Kourtney’s incident — which happened while folding laundry — haunted her, but she was having it fixed so all would be well.
Kris then opened up about being endeared by a recent conversation with her future son-in-law.
“He goes, ‘Do you want to know the real reason why I moved to Calabasas?'” the momager recalled.
“‘Because I knew she lived in Calabasas, and I knew she was the love of my life,'” Kris quoted Travis.
“‘I didn’t even know her like that, but I just knew if I couldn’t date her or be with her,'” Kris continued.
She quoted Travis as having explained “‘because she was with someone else that at least I could live by her.’”
In 2017, Kourtney was dating model Younes Bendjima.
Kourtney gave an affectionate response without directly commenting on what Travis had told Kris.
“I’ve never met a better human in my life,” she gushed.
Kourtney expressed her admiration for “The thoughtfulness and just everything.”
“It was just such an amazing moment,” Kris reflected.
She had visible tears in her eyes.
Kris crying is almost as widely memed as Kim’s tears, but clearly she was touched by the display of love.
Technically, Travis first moved to Calabasas in the laught aughts.
At that time, he was still married. Landon was a little kid. Alabama was just a baby.
We suspect that this is not what Travis, or Kris, meant.
Instead, it is likely that this anecdote refers to Travis’ move in 2017, when he purchased a new house.
At that point, Kourtney and Scott were over. It was the year of Scott’s teen-boning downward spiral in Cannes. It was the year of Rob’s revenge porn against Blac Chyna.
The public at large had no idea that Kourtney or Travis would end up together. There weren’t even whispers about it.
Travis and Kourtney wouldn’t get together until nearly four years later. So … is this a cute story, or is it stalking?
Maybe it’s neither. Maybe it’s both.
And maybe Kris’ version of what Travis told her wasn’t necessarily word-for-word what we hard on the episode.
We have all heard a lot about how much Kanye West loved to style Kim Kardashian during their marriage.
This continued long after Kim filed for divorce.
But, in the wake of Kanye’s fury over Kim’s SNL monologue, she ended up styling herself.
She looked great, but Kanye mocked her outfit, telling her that her career was over, and compared her look to Marge Simpson.
On Season 1, Episode 5 of The Kardashians, viewers saw Kim Kardashian open up to Kourtney about where things stand.
She admitted that Kanye had given her a lot of grief over her Saturday Night Live monologue.
In an infamous interview, Kanye said many things — including that the show had “made” Kim say that they were divorced.
Kim had filed for divorce long before filming for the improv sketch show, but as we all witnessed in numerous interviews and reports, Ye seemed to be in denial.
Additionally, during the episode itself, Kim shared that she had actually shown her ex her monologue.
Kim concluded that perhaps Kanye had not read it, though some wonder if he simply changed how he felt about it once the episode aired.
Kim also acknowledged to Kourtney that Kanye had essentially been vetting her outfits for years.
While many of us might struggle to understand that, especially having seen his clothing line, it sounds like this was a treasured part of their marriage.
But with the divorce, and with months of silence from Kanye, Kim found herself making her own clothing choices.
“I got to a point where I would ask his advice for everything down to what I wear,” Kim recalled.
“Even now I’m having panic attacks,” she told Kourtney, “like what do I wear?”
Kanye had styled her look for SNL in October, but when Kim attended The Wall Street Journal‘s Innovator Awards, she wore her own Skims.
Kim admitted that she felt “so nervous” to be wearing an outfit that she picked to herself to a major event.
“Oh and then he called me afterwards,” she told Kourtney.
“He told me my career is over,” Kim said, “and then he showed me a picture of Marge Simpson wearing something similar.”
One hopes that Kim has discussed all of this at length with a therapist.
Loved ones sometimes roast one another with good intentions, and different relationships entail different communication styles.
But an ex telling someone that their career is “over” and making a presumably unflattering comparison to a cartoon of notoriously ugly characters … that sounds belittling and cruel.
This was all going on at the same time that Kanye was continuing to avoid signing divorce papers, refusing and dragging his heels at every turn.
Kim shared: “I don’t know, I ask him all the time. He says he will and then he’s like, ‘Well, I don’t want a divorce, so I’m not going to sign them.’”
It is baffling that one party can hold up a divorce process for so long, simply to rob a spouse of their freedom.
“I’m always super protective of Kanye and not sharing a lot of the negative things that have happened,” Kim told the confessional camera.
She admitted that she hesitated “just because he’s not here doing the show.”
However, Kim also highlighted the wildly unfair double standards between her discussions of the divorce and Kanye’s.
“Also, if I do something on a reality show, then its how dare she talk about it and then he can do it in a song and thats so creative and expressive,” Kim pointed out.
She lamented: “It’s always, like, two different sides are being expressed two different ways and one is respected and one’s not.”
That’s a very unfair way to be treated.
On this week’s episode of The Kardashians, a lot of the focus was on Kourtney’s engagement and everyone’s feelings.
But there were other hot topics, from Kanye’s post-SNL meltdown at Kim to Khloe playing mediator.
Khloe was a little too good at making peace in her own life, however.
She revealed a secret reconciliation with serial cheater Tristan Thompson, confirming that she was with him while his latest baby mama neared her due date.
As the Kardashians and Jenners got together on Episode 4 of The Kardashians, Khloe Kardashian arrived with a plus one.
That was Tristan Thompson, the man who has been cheating on her, breaking her heart, and then somehow worming his way back into her life for several years.
In a scene filmed in October of 2021, months after she reportedly dumped him for cheating yet again (but before Maralee Nichols gave birth to his baby), Khloe shared that they’d reconciled.
Khloe shared that she and Tristan had “just got back together” before Travis proposed to Kourtney.
“Tristan flew in for the proposal,” she detailed. “This was something he was not going to miss.”
Kris even tried to “jokingly” nudge Tristan into proposing. Thankfully, he did not do as she commanded.
“We’re good. We’re actually in a really good place,” Khloe detailed.
“We just got back together,” she reported. “He’s been going to therapy a lot.”
Khloe, presumably unaware that Maralee Nichols was in her third trimester at the time, claimed: “There’s just been a lot of effort on his part.”
Khloe claimed that it’s “so fun” when Tristan is around as more than just a co-parent.
She also expressed how much she enjoyed seeing him bond with their daughter.
Khloe made no direct acknowledgement of the extremes of Tristan’s cheating — with models, with family friends, and beyond.
Instead, Khloe gushed about how “optimistic” she was feeling about their future together.
Again, this was in October of 2021 — more than half a year before the episode aired.
While Khloe was presumably still being kept in the dark about Maralee’s pregnancy, it’s not like she didn’t know the rest of Tristan’s history.
In June of 2021, it was reported that Khloe had once again broken up with Tristan — just months after defending their reconciliation on the post-KUWTK Reunion.
At that time, model Syndey Chase had just accused Tristan of having slept with her.
One has to assume that Tristan promised Khloe that this would be the last time, for real. And hey, maybe it was.
But Tristan had also slept with Maralee Nichols, another model. She, however, had become pregnant.
After she sued him for paternity, Tristan repeatedly insisted that he was not the father … only to later confirm that, yes, the child was his.
Khloe must have been heartbroken. This being extremely unsurprising does not make it less hurtful.
It is unclear how much of the truth about Tristan we will see on this first season of The Kardashians.
However, it’s also unclear how final this “final” breakup will really be.
Tristan has been giving Khloe extremely good reasons to leave him permanently dumped for more than four years now. What if there is no final straw?
The Kardashians walked viewers through everything that led up to Travis Barker proposing to Kourtney Kardashian.
Obviously, she said “yes,” as the two became engaged last year.
What the world at large did not know until now is how Scott took the news.
On this week’s episode, we all saw and heard it for ourselves.
Travis proposed to Kourtney in October, meaning that The Kardashians has a slightly lower delay between filming and airing than your average reality show.
Kourt was the last to know, as Kourtney’s friends and family gathered for a surprise party.
Kim admitted that Scott was “going to lose his f–king mind” after he learned that the mother of his children had become engaged.
Travis’ kids, 16-year-old Alabama and 18-year-old Landon, were there for the engagement party.
Kourtney’s three children, 12-year-old Mason, 9-year-old Penelope, and 7-year-old Reign, were not.
But while that sounded odd, their own grandmother explained why it wouldn’t have been right to include them in this particular event.
“For us to have to lie to Scott and get them here under false pretenses would’ve been really hard for all of us,” Kris Jenner explained.
“So,” she reasoned, “this is the right thing to do.”
Lying to bring three children to a fairly adult party is weird, especially if neither parent can know in advance. It was the right call.
However, after Travis’ proposal, Scott had a heart-to-heart to Khloe, which she shared with her family on camera.
“‘You guys are gonna kick me out now. I’m not involved in the family,'” she quoted Scott as having said.
“And then [he] was asking, ‘Why weren’t my kids there?'” Khloe revealed. “And we said, ‘Because they were too young.'”
Kourtney told the confessional camera: “I think that it’s really important for Scott to be accepting of our relationship so that the kids can feel good,”
She added: “I’m sensitive to him and his feelings and I communicate with him about the kids and I make sure that he’s good.”
“But beyond that,” Kourtney emphasized, “I just got engaged and I want to be happy and be in the moment.”
“I just don’t think that this moment is about Scott,” Kourtney expressed.
Khloe also reasoned that, if anything, Kourtney’s kids might feel like they have to “choose” and are “losing” their dad, which is not the case.
Khloe was clearly thinking back to her own feelings when Kris remarried (the conversation included some awkward deadnaming of Caitlyn, but Cait is in charge of how her loved ones refer to her in the past).
Later in the episode, Khloe stopped by to visit Scott, even bringing a care package for him — tasty comfort food.
“Don’t get me wrong, I’ll always love your sister,” Scott assured her.
“I wasn’t that caught off guard,” he admitted. “I thought that they’d already be married [based on] the way that she was talking.”
“It wasn’t crazy. Thank God,” Scott said of his reaction to the news.
“Because at another time in my life if I’d heard that, life would’ve been over for me,” he admitted.
Scott, having composed himself, said: “It does give me a lot of relief that she’s happy, somebody else is taking care of her.”
“I kind of in a selfish way feel like a lot has been lifted off of me,” Scott expressed.
“I think in the end it’s kind of a good thing. I couldn’t do the job of being with her, so I salute Travis,” he claimed.
Scott continued, shadily: He’s in for a lot of work… Kourtney is not the simplest when it comes to everything.”
Scott had even more to say to the confessional camera.
“I always felt like that was my fault for breaking up our family,” he shared.
“So,” Scott explained, “I always felt like I had this responsibility to be there for her and take care of her and make sure she was all right, even though we weren’t together.”
“I just felt that guilt, so it was a lot to handle,” Scott admitted.
While he claimed to be just fine with the engagement, he did have one major issue: their kids being excluded.
Scott told Khloe: “They didn’t understand why they were watching TikToks of his kids there and they weren’t there.”
“Hopefully they’re invited to the wedding,” Scott expressed.
“Me personally, if I got engaged 50 minutes away, I’d say, ‘Someone get in the car and drive the kids here,'” he shared.
“[Penelope] would’ve been ecstatic,” Scott said. “We’re acting like the place is 10 hours away.”
Scott added: “I just don’t want to be pushed out of family affairs that include the kids and things that we normally would do.”
He emphasized: “I just don’t want to lose the dynamic of having all of you guys.”
Scott went on: “I definitely think Kourtney and I need to speak about certain things that she doesn’t really want to. We’ll get there. We always do.”
In recent years, Khloe Kardashian has developed an increasingly contentious relationship with her own fans.
It’s not just about trolls or body-shamers anymore. These days, Khloe sees even compassionate messages from fans as “mean.”
We here at THG have discussed this before. A lot of fans are worried.
Now, on Twitter and on The Kardashians, Khloe is saying it out loud, accompanied by some very clear examples.
On Season 1, Episode 2 of The Kardashians on Hulu, Khloe Kardashians was preparing to do a press tour.
While many people might dread going on James Corden, Khloe’s reasons had less to do with the polarizing comedian and more to do with public appearances.
As she confessed to bestie Malika Haqq during the episode, her anxiety was over the backlash that follows any interview.
Khloe explained that she feels that she “has” to “listen to everybody say this” or “judge” her.
While she does not have to do anything of the sort, she has been perceived to be actively looking for criticisms of her on social medai.
If that sounds unhealthy, well, yeah … but Khloe’s perception of what people say and how hostile it is is similarly worrisome.
Some of what these “trolls” say is absolutely hostile.
People make cruel body-shaming comments or level hurtful accusations at her.
But some of the examples cites on the show itself highlight how far removed from reality Khloe’s idea of “mean” tweets really is.
“Tristan will never change,” one tweet warned. “A tiger can’t change its stripes.”
It’s good advice — advice that Khloe could have really used four years ago, if she’d been ready to hear it, for that matter.
But to her, apparently, it belongs with “butt implants” tweets and posts that make fun of her … even though it’s surely what any decent person would tell her.
After the episode aired, Khloe received support from fans on social media.
“It sucks but I understand it’s part of the game but some things get so mean and so heavy and it feels like it never gets lighter,” Khloe lamented.
“Only heavier and heavier,” she wrote. “COVID also made me super anxious in general.”
We can certainly sympathize with Khloe’s anxieties, both in general and specifically regarding COVID-19.
But we have to emphasize not not all of the “hate” that Khloe perceives comes from a negative place.
While Khloe is certainly on the receiving end of vicious insults and cruel mockery, a lot of what she thinks is “trolling” is actually earnest concern.
For example, when people talk about how she edits her photos beyond recognition, that is not body-shaming.
If Khloe makes herself look like an alien or like Slenderman or otherwise distorted using digital editing, the backlash isn’t over her body.
We don’t doubt that it was brought on by very real body-shaming, but Khloe’s actual fans who care about her worry about what’s behind these extreme edits.
Khloe seems to not like the way that she looks, and the way that she gets bent out of shape (metaphorically) results in her photos being more literally bent out of shape.
Of course people are concerned, just as they were worried at the number of times that Khloe took Tristan Thompson back after he cheated on her.
Yes, it’s her mistake to make in each case, but it’s hard to watch when you care about someone’s happiness. If Khloe sees that as an attack … that’s not healthy, either.
Much of the drama on The Kardashians‘ premiere on Thursday, April 14 had to do with Kim Kardashian doing damage control.
But Kourtney’s love for Travis Barker was also featured prominently.
Scott Disick was feeling left out and excluded, but that wasn’t entirely a bad thing.
He admitted that he knows, deep down, that he might need to find an age-appropriate girlfriend if he wants to really move on.
As we saw on the premiere on Hulu, Scott Disick was not invited to a family BBQ.
Everyone else was there. Everyone else had been invited.
While this was what Kourtney wanted, some of her family were miffed or even felt guilty for enjoying the gathering without him.
“It’s everything he was always afraid of, ‘I don’t have any family, you’re my only family,'” Kim pointed out.
“And now,” she expressed, “it’s coming true.”
Being excluded from one event isn’t that big of a deal … unless it becomes part of a larger pattern.
“Hold on guys, Scott and I have been broken up for seven years,” Kourtney pointed out in the confessional.
“And,” she noted, “I gave him 10 years before that. So why is everyone making such a big deal about this?”
Kourtney asked: “Let’s just not hate on a girl who finally knows what she deserves.”
Khloe stopped by Scott’s home, noting that they have a sibling-like bond, albeit an oddly flirtatious one.
This marked his debut on the show, and gave him a chance to talk to the cameras and to Khloe about being shut out.
Yes, he heard about the BBQ — he and Kourtney have the same kids, after all.
But it’s not all bad, either.
“For the first time in my life it’s finally starting to change,” Scott remarked to the confessional camera.
“Now that Kourtney’s got her life with Travis, as hard as it is, it does give me a place to finally be able to move on,” sugggested.
Khloe asked Scott how open he would be to having a “real loving relationship” akin to what Kourtney has found with Travis.
“If I want to find someone real and serious that I’d want to spent my life with, it would have to be somebody … [in their] upper 20s,” he admitted.
Scott added: “Not over 30 … whatever … 30, whatever it is. If I love somebody, doesn’t matter their age.”
“Feeling left out and not being told anything is super hurtful, especially when I don’t have another family to go to,” Scott expressed.
Khloe suggested that Scott might have been spared some discomfort given Kourt’s PDA with Travis.
But Scott said that he’d prefer to endure that than to not be around the family “at all.”
“I always had her friends or our family in my ear kind of like, ‘Don’t worry honey, eventually you guys will figure it out and you’ll get back together one day,'” Scott shared.
He characterized his past feelings: “My foot was always halfway in the door.”
Scott understated that it was “a huge adjustment losing Kourtney romantically.”
Earlier this month, we reported that Kim Kardashian brought together a legal team to do her bidding.
They were tasked with ensuring that an alleged second sex tape never sees the light of day.
On the one hand, as she made clear on The Kardashians‘ premiere, Kim has never been entirely convinced that the tape exists.
But on the other, anyone with such a recording needs to be too afraid to even think about releasing it.
On Thursday’s series premiere of The Kardashians on Hulu, Kim Kardashian was on a warpath.
We all watched as Kim’s young son, Saint, showed her an image of her “cry face” in his Roblox game.
While many internet security advocates have concerns about Roblox, Kim’s worry was about the text that Saint did not read — implying that one could click to see her “new” sex tape.
As we reported last year, around the time when this was filmed, Ray J’s former manager was claiming that a sex tape existed.
Kim affirmed that she was “99.9 percent sure” that it did not exist.
That did not mean that she was not prepared to burn people to the “f–king ground” in order to protect her privacy.
The Kardashians viewers on Thursday saw Kim enlist powerhouse attorney Marty Singer to keep any such tape from going public.
Kim put Marty on speaker in the presence of Kris, Kourtney, and Khloe, also advising him that they were filming.
“Even if it exists,” Marty assured everyone in the room, “they don’t have a legal right to release that tape without her consent.”
“Had my son been a little bit older and been able to read, I would’ve been mortified,” Kim told the camera.
Six-year-old Saint would have still been five at the time, so while he was presumably able to read, a kid that age might ignore text on a screen.
“But I died inside,” she expressed.
Kim’s goal, she explained to Marty, was for him to simply “scare the s–t” out of Wack100, Ray J’s former manager.
She explained that she intended to sue for “nominal damages.”
Kim doesn’t need money in a lawsuit, she wants to send a message — that no one else has the right to video of her naked body.
In a particularly goofy moment, Khloe declared that this was a “good omen.”
She cited that for Kim to have a possible “sex tape” during the “first season” of their new show put them “back at square one.”
While we can enjoy a good moment of ring composition or story framing as much as the next person, Kim clearly doesn’t see it that way.
Times were different during the early 2000s, in ways both good and bad for Kim.
Yes, the world is less sex-negative in some ways, and things like sex tapes are more mainstream — so people understand that the villain is the leaker, not the person having sex.
But Kim is now a mother of four, and the thing with Saint and Roblox was a close call. She doesn’t want it happening again.
For what it’s worth, Kim and Kanye eventually did retrieve a laptop, which did have footage on it — but allegedly had no sign of anything like a sex tape.
While that must have been a relief, it also brings up more questions, like why anyone would joke about something like this.
Whether it’s for profit or for 15 minutes of fame … some things should be off limits, right?
Late last summer, long before Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker were almost-marrying in Vegas, they were packing on the PDA.
Infamously, this led Kourtney’s bitter ex, Scott Disick, to make a total fool of himself, griping about her in Younes Bendjima’s DMs.
Younes exposed Scott, humiliating him by showing his true attitude to the world.
On the premiere of The Kardashians, viewers will see how Kourtney reacted to this behind the scenes.
It is reported that, in the premiere episode of The Kardashians (which we can all see on April 14 on Hulu), Kourtney receives an apology.
Viewers will watch as Scott Disick’s text and accompanying screenshot makes its way to Kourtney.
It’s an apology … but she’s in no rush to forgive her ex for being salty and messy.
“This is despicable,” Kourtney writes back to Scott in the episode.
She’s not wrong.
Scott didn’t just humiliate himself and lose out on his romance with Amelia Hamlin. He also made things weird with Kourtney.
Scott and Kourtney share three children: Mason, Penelope, and Reign.
Reports said that the two were secretly clashing after Scott made a fool of himself, even as they were putting on a nice show for their children.
Clearly, The Kardashians seems to be confirming those reports.
So what happened, exactly?
In August of 2021, Kourtney and Travis were having a lovely time, packing on the PDA and being photographed while doing so.
They weren’t yet engaged, but they were happy — but Scott was not.
Scott sent a photo to Younes Bendjima, Kourtney’s other ex.
Hoping to find a sympathetic ear with the French model, he complained about “this chick.”
Between the bitter sentiment and the misogynistic language, Younes was not exactly Team Scott.
Younes’ response wasn’t just to rebuff Scott, but to plaster his DMs across social media.
The whole world saw Scott’s juvenile gripes.
Amelia dumped him (finally!), but it looks like this show is going to give us our first real insight into Kourtney’s semi-private response.
There will be more, of course, that should give Scott plenty of more reasons to be super cranky that his ex is happy.
Kourtney’s engagement appears to have been filmed for the show — by which we mean the proposal itself.
Additionally, her quest with Travis Barker to potentially grow their family by having a baby will be documented.
You may have noticed that our tone here is not terribly sympathetic towards Scott, and you’re right!
Several years ago, Scott’s downward spiral — when he was boning every 19-year-old model he could find and reportedly drinking excessively — one could almost understand.
At that time, the guy had probably only just accepted that he had missed out on being with the love of his life due to some dumb mistakes that he had made.
But now? We’re swiftly approaching a decade since he and Kourtney broke up.
At some point, he needs to stop acting like he’s the age of the girls he dates and start being a grownup.
He and Kourtney are co-parents. They will always be family. But if he can’t be happy for her, he’ll only make himself miserable.
