Gabrielle Union Scoffs at So-Called Apology from America’s Got Talent

As has been proven time and again over the years, America has got talent.

But Gabrielle Union?

She has NOT got time for any BS from the folks behind one of NBC's longest-running  hits.

On Sunday -- a few days after we learned the actress would not be brought back as a panelist in 2020 on America's Got Talent -- Union shared a tweet from freelance writer and host Joelle Monique.

The Tweet was a reference to the proper way to apologize -- and it went viral shortly after Simon Cowell’s company, Syco Entertainment, NBC and production company Fremantle released a new statement about Union’s firing from the reality show.

In her tweet, Monique outlined what makes for a “solid apology."

It's rather clear neither she nor Union believes that the folks behind America's Got Talent just successfully relayed one.

Here is what Monique wrote:

1. Sincerely admit wrong doing directly to the offended party.

2. Be twice as loud correcting your mistake as you were making the mistake.

3. Lay out steps to correct your behavior in the future.

Anything less is covering your own ass.

In response, as you can see below, Union wrote: This! This! AND THIIISSSSSSS!!!!!!

Prior to the 47-year-old actress sharing the tweet, Syco Entertainment, NBC and Fremantle said the following in a statement:

“We remain committed to ensuring a respectful workplace for all employees and take very seriously any questions about workplace culture.

"We are working with Ms. Union through her representatives to hear more about her concerns, following which we will take whatever next steps may be appropriate."

Union getting let go by NBC has made national headlines due to allegations that her firing is related to an atmosphere of racism and sexism on the America's Got Talent set.

According to various outlets, Union was offended by an off-color joke made by Jay Leno on one occasion and was also told, on numerous occasions, to change her hairstyle because it was "too black."

Union and Julianne Hough, who was also let go, were both subject to “excessive notes” on their physical appearance, sources alleged in a Variety report.

A spokesperson for NBC and Fremantle previously responded to such claims with a statement to on November 26, saying:

“America’s Got Talent has a long history of inclusivity and diversity in both our talent and the acts championed by the show.

The judging and host line-up has been regularly refreshed over the years and that is one of the reasons for AGT’s enduring popularity.

"NBC and the producers take any issues on set seriously."

Ellen Pompeo is among the major names who have rushed to Union's defense, totally trashing NBC in the process.

In another instance, sources told Variety that Union spoke up when a white male contestant auditioned with an act where he portrayed people of color and impersonated singers through quick costume changes.

Producers were reportedly irritated with Union bringing to their attention these examples of racial insensibity.

How dare she, right?!?

Union broke her silence on her controversial departure last Wednesday, thanking her followers for their support during this difficult time.

“So many tears, so much gratitude,” the star tweeted, concluding at the time:

“THANK YOU! Just when you feel lost, adrift, alone… you got me up off the ground. Humbled and thankful, forever.”
