Jared Padalecki Breaks His Silence Following Drunken Arrest At Texas Bar

Jared Padalecki is speaking out nearly a week after his arrest for assault and public intoxication at a local bar and lounge he frequented in Austin, Texas.

As we reported, the 37-year-old was booked on the charges after allegedly striking the bartender and general manager of Stereotype on October 27, and judging by his most recent message to his fans, the CW star has been keeping a relatively low profile since everything went down!

On Sunday, the Supernatural actor took to Twitter to address the situation AND his recent absence from his show’s official comic convention in Washington D.C. over the weekend, all while thanking everyone in his life for their support. He penned:

“I want to sincerely thank my family and friends for all of your love and support. So sad to miss the #SPNFamily at #dccon but I hope to see y’all soon.”

That’s tough luck for any die-hard fans who were hoping to see the thespian at the event dedicated to the long-running sci-fi TV series. The company responsible for organizing the con, Creation Entertainment, also reportedly announced Padalecki would not attend and offered refunds to anyone who purchased a meet-and-greet with him.

However, his costars Alexander Calvert, Jake Abel, and Jensen Ackles were all there!

Ackles, for his part, reportedly made light of his buddy’s absence at one point. Per Deadline, he joked:

“We all miss my big, dumb friend. I’ll just say it now, he had a bad weekend last weekend. He’s dealing with what he’s gotta deal with so just send him support and some love and have a good weekend this weekend.”

Nice!

The Gilmore Girls alum could certainly use the support as his legal woes are far from over yet.

For those who need a refresher, Padalecki had to be restrained by friends after he allegedly punched the Stereotype’s bartender and GM in the face. He was then taken outside of the Texas establishment to cool down, but he refused and reportedly put his pal in a headlock.

Things got even worse after law enforcement arrived as the star allegedly flashed money at officers while they completed his arrest. The following day, E! News reported Jared was released after posting his $15,000 bail.

According to an affidavit obtained by People, both employees said they wanted to pursue charges against him for assault. The outlet reports he is due back in court on November 18 to face both counts of assault and public intoxication.

Padalecki is next set to star and executive produce a new TV reboot of Walker, Texas Ranger soon after his current show’s 15th and final season finishes airing, so hopefully, he can settle this matter sooner rather than later!
