“Jay And Silent Bob Reboot,” “Jojo Rabbit,” “Joker,” “Parasite,” And “Western Stars”: Films To See In October

Welcome to October! Yes, we’ve reached the tenth month of the year already. Time flies when you’re having fun, right? Well, this month is going to be one of the most stacked in some time, as Academy Award contenders of all shapes and sizes are hitting screens. By the end of this month, we’ll know a lot more about this Oscar race, that’s for sure. I’ve seen a handful of these titles already, so can vouch for the quality on hand. Pain and Glory – I’ve also seen this latest work from Pedro Almodovar, and Antonio Banderas is as good as advertised. I’ll have more to say this week in a full review, but if you’re a fan of this filmmaker, he’s playing to all of his strengths, with a Best International Feature nomination sure to follow (and Banderas is knee deep in the Best Actor race as well) Sit tight for more very soon on this one! 7. Zombieland 2: Double Tap – The sequel finally arrives! The question is, will it be too late for audiences to care? That remains to be seen, but I know I’m actually looking forward to it. Bringing back the entire cast was certainly a coup. If nothing else, this is the sort of project that has the capacity to surprise. Anything is possible, right? 6. Dolemite Is My Name – Netflix launches this biopic into theaters this month, before it finds a home on the streaming service. I saw it last week and can vouch for it being a blast, with a [...]
