Maren Morris Poses for Playboy, DESTROYS Slut-Shamers

Are "fans" really still shaming famous women for taking off their clothes? Apparently, Country music fans still are. In 2019. Wild.

Beloved Country star Maren Morris announced excitedly that she had posed for Playboy.

But after slut-shaming trolls piled on the hate, Maren found a very tasteful way to put her haters in their place.

This week, Maren took to Instagram to share exciting news with her fans and followers.

"Strip it down," her caption begins.

Maren continues: "Something with @playboy is coming next week."

See, she posed topless for Playboy's Gender + Sexuality issue.

It will be released on Tuesday, June 18.

While many of the more vile comments have since been removed, Maren received a lot of backlash.

"I'm really not sure how I feel about this," wrote one critic. "Fair play to Maren for expressing herself as she wishes I guess. Just not my thing."

Another nastily commented: "unfollow."

"So long hope u have a good life," shaded another. "No not hatter, just different morales."

Different system of spelling, too, apparently.

Another demanded: "Girl don’t lose ya halo."

Maren took to her Instagram Stories to explain herself to her fans.

"The thing about me is," Maren says. "I make music for myself."

"I learned later that it touches others," she continues. "Which is the most wonderful byproduct of a songwriter’s calling."

"Some can slut-shame me for my lyrics about sex and you can put me in your little box," she suggests.

Maren expresses that “I just want to live and love."

"I recently accepted myself," she notes. "And will put these photos in a frame because I’ll never have this moment back."

To be clear, Maren's actual fans were overjoyed to bombard her with praise.

"Yeehawt" reads one comment, probably our favorite of the month. Maybe the best word we've seen in weeks.

"Love it!" praises another. "You are beautiful, strong and talented! Show it off!!"

"You’re perfect! Don’t listen to any hate," advises another fan.

"To all of the … I’m suddenly not a fan people … You’re not the kind of fan anyone would want in the first place," admonishes a defender.

The comment continues: "If you don’t have something nice to say don’t say anything at all just unfollow. Very simple."

Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd

Some critics tried to insinuate that Maren was somehow betraying her marriage vows by letting cameras capture her sinful flesh prison.

"What does Ryan Hurd think of this?" one critic demanded to know.

We think that we can answer that.

Ryan himself shared the news excitedly, reposting from Maren's page.

"Taken," he notified his followers. "Sorry, boys and girls."

He's clearly proud to have such a gorgeous wife.

It's Maren's meat prison and she is entitled to show it off or cover it up as much as she likes.

Some didn't take issue with the fact that she was photographed so much as they did with the news that it was for Playboy.

There are a number of problematic elements about Playboy, but nudity itself is not an issue or a bad thing.

Maren is 29 years old. She can decide if she wants to wear a shirt or not in front of a camera.

Anyone who considers themself her fan should respect that.
