Selena Gomez Talks Making Taylor Swift CRY & What She Looks For In A Non-Bieber Romantic Partner!

Everyone’s getting emotional over Selena Gomez’s comeback — even Taylor Swift!

In a new interview with KISS FM UK, the 27-year-old singer opened up about the path to her upcoming album Rare, and the teardrops she was responsible for along the way.

During the chat, the Disney alum recalled playing her two new songs — Lose You to Love Me and Look At Her Now — for her bestie and fellow artist, T.Swift, and her parents, which she described as “one of the coolest experiences.”

As fans know, Tay and Selly have been close friends for over a decade, so the Blank Space singer is intimately familiar with the Spring Breakers actress’ journey since her high-profile split from Justin Bieber.

Because the Swifts are privy to the “horrible things” Selena has been through in the past, she said, Tay and her mom Andrea Swift had quite the reaction when the starlet played her two recently-released music videos for them: apparently, they started crying!

Gomez explained:

“It’s gonna make me cry thinking about it. Because it wasn’t just about how great the song was, which is a lot coming from her, it was just that they had been on that journey with me, intimately. And they were crying because of how proud they were for me stepping into a whole new era of my life, and it not involving the horrible things, the abuse, the emotional chaos, it felt like I had a huge sigh of relief.”

We can only imagine!

Elsewhere on the UK leg of her press tour, Selly opened up about what she looks for in a romantic partner — thanks to a question from Cats star and anaconda owner Jason Derulo.

For those who don’t know, the UK’s Capital FM morning show has an ongoing segment where guests ask questions for the next guest. Derulo had quite the Q for Gomez, asking:

“So, I have a question for you. So what is your best advice to a man coming up to meet a woman for the first time? How do you like to be approached? What’s the best approach a man can give a woman for the first time?”

After laughing at the question, Selena replied:

“I don’t think I’ve ever really been asked this question before… I like group situations. So I find that that’s what makes me comfortable — if they’re someone maybe I know of someone of I know.”

The actress noted that she likes to be “approached in a natural, organic way,” adding:

“And I hope that whoever’s doing that is actually interested in me and not really my name. So, it’s pretty hard, but that’s usually the best way.”

The currently single singer admitted she’s attracted to “genuine” people and can usually tell if someone’s not, explaining:

“I feel like in the first five seconds I can tell if I’m meeting someone that just wants one thing, and then I can tell when it’s a good group of guys and they’re cool. I love funny. I don’t like arrogant. I don’t like you know, show-offy. I love playful, adventurous, but really down-to-Earth and cool.”

Sounds like a catch!

Though we don’t think Selena will be looking for love anytime soon, as her new album drops on January 10, 2020.

Are U excited for it??
