Simone Biles’ Brother Pleads Not Guilty To Triple Murder Charges Over Alleged Shootout

Simone Biles’ brother is pleading not guilty to multiple counts of murder!

As we reported, Tevin Biles-Thomas was arrested last month in Georgia over an alleged shooting that left three men dead at a New Year’s Eve party in Cleveland, Ohio.

Following what authorities say was an extensive and thorough investigation by Cleveland homicide detectives, the brother of the gold medalist was charged with murder, voluntary manslaughter, felonious assault, and perjury, according to a statement from Cleveland police.

But the 24-year-old pleaded not guilty to all charges at his arraignment on Friday in Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas, at which he appeared by video from the Cuyahoga County Jail.

A judge ordered the active-duty Army specialist held on $1 million bond and to have no contact with the surviving victims of the shooting — which, according to police, took place at an Airbnb rental when an “uninvited group” entered the home and “an altercation ensued.” Delvante Johnson, 19, Toshaun Banks, 21, and DeVaughn Gibson, 23, were killed.

Tevin’s Olympian sister broke her silence on his arrest four days after he was cuffed, writing on Twitter:

“Still having a hard time processing last week’s news… My heart aches for everyone involved, especially for the victims and their families. There is nothing that I can say that will heal anyone’s pain, but I do want to express my sincere condolences to everyone affected by this terrible tragedy. I ask everyone to please respect my family’s privacy as we deal with our pain. XO”

Simone and her brother appeared to be relatively close, despite growing up in separate homes because of drug addiction issues involving their parents. The gymnast was reportedly raised by her grandparents near Houston with a sister, while Tevin was raised by a great aunt with another sister in Cleveland.

The 22-year-old athlete wrote on social media how she missed Tevin and wished him luck when he entered the Army in 2014. In 2017, she posted a smiling photo of the two of them, noting how they looked like twins.

Unsurprisingly, the families of the victims are hoping justice will be served. After the hearing, DelVaunte’s mother Brandie Johnson told Cleaveland.com

“I don’t agree with a million dollars bond, not for the murder of three people.”

Johnson said her son and Banks, the second victim, were at the New Year’s Eve party when Tevin and Gibson, the third victim, were part of a group who showed up to the party. She claimed she’s the cousin of Simone’s biological father, strangely enough, and that her slain son — as well as Banks — both had daughters born back in June.

She told the outlet through tears:

“We’re just trying to find out how to get through this for these babies.”

So heartbreaking for everyone involved.

Tevin is scheduled for a pretrial hearing on September 18 at 9 a.m.. Do U think he’ll be found guilty?
