Last week, Kourtney Kardashian taunted Sofia Richie with a dramatically posed "co-parenting" pic featuring her ex, Scott Disick.
It's not difficult to imagine that Sofia taking that photo a little personally.
But a report says that Scott's much younger girlfriend is responding to Scott's complicated family situation with a lot of maturity.
People reports that Sofia Richie has learned to cope with Scott and Kourtney's co-parenting dynamic.
"There has been and will continue to be things with Scott’s family life that bother Sofia," an insider confirms.
"But," the source says. "She is trying to just deal without causing drama."
That is very mature of her!
"She loves Scott," the insider affirms. "And wants to be with him."
And she clearly knows that that will mean that Scott's children and their mother will always be in the picture.
"She knows she will always be kind of the outsider," the source reports.
Scott and Kourtney don't just share children -- they share many years of personal history as a couple.
"But," the insider continues. "She loves being around Scott and his kids."
That is very sweet.
The source goes on to say that Sofia is "getting better at handling Scott’s family situations in a mature way."
It sounds like things are even marginally okay between Sofia and Kourtney.
The insider affirms that the two women "will never be best friends."
Well, yeah. Honestly, it'd be a little weird for a 40-year-old to have a 20-year-old best friend, and vice-versa.
(Yes, Kourtney will be 40 in a matter of months but it doesn't matter -- she's still the hottest of the OG Kardashians)
Still, Sofia is happy to have earned a measure of trust when it comes to Kourtney being okay with her spending time with the children.
"She knows that Kourtney isn’t her biggest fan," the source says. "And she understands that."
"Sofia and Kourtney will never be best friends," the insider emphasizes.
"But," the source notes. "Sofia is happy that she has proved to Kourtney that she is great with her kids."
Well, Sofia's at an ideal age to be a babysitter. (Okay, we're kidding)
Seriously, in the end, Kourtney wants to know that her kids are surrounded by people who love them, so she would be reassured by that.
"Sofia," the insider explains. "Is hoping that her relationship with Scott lasts."
People previously reported on how Kourtney feels about this whole very complicated situation.
Kourtney, an insider reported, "doesn’t necessarily care to get to know Sofia better, but she feels she needs to because of the kids."
That sounds very responsible of her.
"Sofia spends time with Kourtney’s kids, so Kourtney wants to make sure they are all on the same page," the source said.
"Scott and Sofia tend to get into arguments," the insider noted. "Kourtney wants to make sure the kids are in a positive environment when they are at Scott’s house."
Children should not be exposed to arguing adults. Quite frankly, neither should adults.
"She is setting up rules for how things need to be when the kids are with Scott," the source summarized.
The basic translation here is that Sofia is playing for keeps when it comes to Scott.
If they were just going to have a fling, it would have ended sooner than a year, right?
Scott's children will always be the center of his world, which means that Sofia needs to be able to deal with him and Kourtney being co-parents.
It's not an easy adjustment, and it's an unusual one for a 20-year-old to have to make, but Sofia is embracing the situation.
