Tana Mongeau opens up about her “family emergency.”
Last week on Instagram Story, the 21-year-old revealed the urgent situation was connected to her grandmother — who recently had a heart attack and passed away.
The social media personality began her message:
“A quick life update – [I don’t know] really how to write this and I know I don’t owe anyone an explanation about anything in my life but I guess I’ll always feel like I owe you guys an update as to what’s going on in my life because you are my family just as much as my family is my family. Before I was supposed to leave on the honeymoon with Jake something terrible and unexpected happened randomly with one of my family members. It hit me very hard and I didn’t know how to handle it. Luckily I was already in Vegas and spent the next few weeks staying there and going back and forth. It was truly the hardest two weeks of my life to handle alone.”
The Tanacon creator continued:
“Yesterday I was flying back to Vegas to deal with the same emergency — my grandma, who lived with my mom and dad, ended up having a random heart attack and passing away.. This was so unexpected on top of everything my entire family has been going through. My heart truly breaks for my mom. My grandma really did always try to pick up the pieces of our family & was one of the sweetest, most forgiving women I’ve ever met.”
The MTV No Filter: Tana Turns 21 star concluded her post by thanking fans for their support.
“I love you guys & we will get through this together. Thank u for all the prayers for me and my family. I know that together we will come out of this stronger and as long as I use my pain to be able to help even one of you, this is the purpose of my life. Thank u guys for giving me that.”
Over the weekend, Paul was photographed with his “ex-girlfriend” Erika Costell at a Panera Bread.
(In September 2017, the controversial vlogger denied being in a relationship with the model, telling the New York Times, “We’re not even actually dating… It’s like the WWE. People know that’s fake, and it’s one of the biggest things of entertainment.”)
On Sunday night on IG Story, Mongeau — who said she found out about the photos on Twitter — responded by parodying Ariana Grande‘s breakup anthem, thank u, next.
