Vanessa Bryant is going through a heartbreak we can’t even imagine.
Nearly three weeks since her husband Kobe Bryant and their 13-year-old daughter Gianna Bryant lost their lives in a horrific helicopter crash on January 26, she continues to lean on her family during this difficult time.
Sofia Laine, Vanessa’s momma, has “been her rock” throughout the horrible ordeal she and her daughters, Natalia 17, Bianka, 3, and Capri, 7 months, are going through. An Us Weekly source spilled of their special relationship:
“[Vanessa] is incredibly close to her mom and her mom has been her rock throughout the past few weeks. Her mom is always with her and the girls and she’s been keeping Vanessa strong and she’s the weight of her support system.”

The insider added the 37-year-old “is in denial,” but knows “life must go on.”
“There is no other option, simply put. Vanessa takes solace in the support of her mom and her sister [Sophie Laine], who are committed to seeing her through this. But at the end of the day, there aren’t words to describe her feelings.”
It “will take a very long time for life to normalize” for Bryant, added the source, which is more than understandable.
Only earlier this week did the former model open up about the grief of losing her husband and daughter at the same time. Sharing a video to Instagram of the NBA icon coaching Gigi, she wrote on Monday:
“I’ve been reluctant to put my feelings into words. My brain refuses to accept that both Kobe and Gigi are gone. I can’t process both at the same time. It’s like I’m trying to process Kobe being gone but my body refuses to accept my Gigi will never come back to me. It feels wrong.”
The heartwrenching caption continued:
“Why should I be able to wake up another day when my baby girl isn’t being able to have that opportunity?! I’m so mad. She had so much life to live. Then I realize I need to be strong and be here for my 3 daughters. Mad I’m not with Kobe and Gigi but thankful I’m here with Natalia, Bianka and Capri.”
It had also been revealed Kobe and Gigi had been laid to rest on February 7 at Pacific View Memorial Park and Mortuary in Corona Del Mar, California, according to People.
A public memorial service for all victims of the crash is scheduled for Monday, February 24 at the Staples Center.
Our hearts are with the family of four, as well as the other affected families, as they continue to mourn.
