Ever since Britney Spears' conservatorship came to an end, the pop icon has been delighting her fans by making the most of her newfound freedom.
Just before she officially gained her independence, Britney got engaged to Sam Asghari, the boyfriend who supported her throughout the darkest days of her struggle.
These days, Spears is pregnant with Asghari's baby.
And the exciting updates just keep on coming, as we now know that Britney and Sam have set a wedding date!
That's the good news for fans.
The bad news is that the couple is keeping the date under wraps.
The latest update comes to us courtesy of Sam's Instagram Stories.
The model posted a Mother's Day tribute to Spears that had his followers giddy with excitement.
“Our lives have been a real life fairytale,” Asghari captioned a photo that was taken the day he and Brit got engaged.
“Happy Mother’s Day to you my soon to be queen," he added.
“Also The big day has been set!” Sam continued.
“But nobody will know until the day after.”
Yeah, that's probably for the best.
We're sure fans would like to share in Britney's excitement during every stage of the preparation, but for logistical reasons, she really has no choice but to keep it a secret.
Brit's fans tend to be an obsessive bunch, and thousands of them would storm the gates if they knew the date and location of her wedding.
We're sure they would be mean well -- but it would no doubt be a terrifying scene.
As for who will be invited to Sam and Britney's big day -- well, we're predicting that the guest list will be a short one.
Britney's opportunistic family will almost certainly not be in attendance.
In addition to her father, Britney has lashed out at her mother and her sister, Jamie-Lynn, both of whom she's accused of being compliant in her virtual captivity.
We're guessing that Spears and Asghari will favor a small, very private ceremony that will probably take place sometime this summer.
And at some point shortly thereafter, Brit will welcome her third child, the first for Sam.
It's an exciting time for the couple, and it certainly wasn't easy for them to get to this point.
There was a time when it looked as though Britney's legal war against her father would not be successful.
In fact, were it not for all the media attention and the support of the #FreeBritney movement, Jamie Spears might have been able to maintain his control over his daughter's life and finances.
Fortunately, Brit's fans turned a hashtag into a movement; the media paid attention, and Jamie caved under a mountain of negative press.
We're sure Britney is forever grateful to the supporters who took up her cause and helped her to gain her freedom.
Unfortunately, she can't invite all of them to her wedding.
A cake large enough for entire Brit Army just wouldn't be practical.
But hey, we're sure Britney will update her millions of followers the second that she and Sam exchange vows.
And we're sure they'll be as overcome with emotion as if they were right there in person.
