Randall Emmett has been in trouble with Lala Kent for awhile now.
Back in October, the Vanderpump Rules star broke up with her fiance and immediately accused him of cheating… A LOT.
Now, however?
Emmett may be in trouble with the law.
In a damning article published Thursday by the Los Angeles Times, Emmett was accused of offering a woman movie roles in exchange for sexual favors, along with her silence over intimate relationships with him.
The newspaper referenced a letter written by lawyer Gloria Allred, who was representing a then-23-year-old actress who claimed Emmett sent her a text that said as follows:
“One day of work and u need to f—me [sic] hun.”
He supposedly sent this message the female in question asked if she had landed a role in one of his projects.
Allred alleged in her letter, which was dated October 5, 2021, and sent to Emmett, “that to receive acting work from” the producer, her client “would have to perform sexual favors.”
It’s perhaps worth noting that this date coincides almost exactly with Kent breaking up with Emmett.
In a statement to People Magazine, meanwhile, a spokesperson for Emmett says her client “staunchly denies the allegations dating back to 2012,” in reference to Allred’s client.
According to this bombshell piece, Emmett signed a settlement with Allred’s client that agreed to pay her around $200,000 over the course of two years… in exchange for her not telling anyone about Emmett’s alleged blackmail.
The producer has denied this claim.
Emmett and Kent are parents to a daughter named Ocean.
In this same article, Lala alleged that Emmett grew violent after she accused him of sleeping around.
“He ran after me, tackled me and knocked me to the ground,” Kent told The Times.
“I used every ounce of strength to get him off of me as he was trying to pry it from my hands…
“That was when I knew, for sure, that there was a lot he was hiding.”
The couple’s then-nanny backed up most of this account to The Times, saying she witnessed Emmett at least grabbing the phone away from Kent back then.
“These allegations are false and part of a now-familiar smear campaign orchestrated by Randall’s ex-fiancée to sway their custody dispute,” Emmett’s rep, Sallie Hofmeister, told the Times.
“Lala Kent has lied and manipulated others in her desperate attempt to win full custody of her daughter, keep her name in the press, and remain relevant in reality television.”
Mostly known to the public for his appearances on Bravo, Emmett is a veteran Hollywood producer who has worked on films such as:
The Wicker Man (2006), The Irishman (2019) and 2021’s Midnight in the Switchgrass, which he also directed.
