There was a time, not all that long when Kailyn Lowry and Leah Messer were the best of friends.

These days, however, Leah’s name is high on the ever-growing list of Teen Mom stars with whom Kail has major beef.

There’s been some debate over exactly when the friendship ended and the feud started.

But everyone seems to agree that it had something to do with Briana DeJesus.

Kail’s been feuding with Bri for years, and apparently, she was none too happy when Leah started buddying-up to her longtime rival.

Bri and Leah seemed to get along during their time on Teen Mom Family Reunion, and it seems that the final straw came when Leah started “liking” DeJesus’ posts on Instagram.

So Kail and Leah are no longer on speaking terms.

But it seems that Leah is still very much on Kail’s mind.

On the latest episode of her “Barely Famous” podcast, Kail was joined by film director Lola Blanc and actress Meagan Grainger, both of whom opened up about their past involvement with a cult.

Kail took the opportunity to discuss a friend of hers who had also been lured into a cult.

“I have a friend who was in a cult for a short time, and when you’re in a state of, like, almost, like, brainwashing, you can’t convince them to get out and like, everything that I was saying to her, she was, like, not receptive, you know what I’m saying?” Lowry recalled.

“And I’m like; ‘I’m trying to help you, not fight with you,’ you know what I mean? And trying to tell these other people that she was, like, recruiting, like this is not what you think it is,” Kail continued.

“This is a cult… and I don’t even think she realized it was a cult.”

Now, Kail never mentioned her ex-cult member friend by name.

But it’s worth noting that Leah joined a cult back in 2019, and Kailyn intervened in an effort to help her friend escape that dangerous situation.

So perhaps it’s no surprise that fans were quick to jump to the conclusion that Kail was referring to her ex-bestie’s struggles.

“This is about Leah!!!” one Reddit user remarked, according to UK tabloid The Sun.

“You’re talking about Leah right?! because I remember her posting some weird stuff about a group in California a year ago,” another fan noted.

“I’m so glad Leah got out of that mess,” a third person chimed in.

“Yooooo… Leah even deleted all the pictures she had posted during those retreats and such! I don’t blame her in the slightest of course – truly glad she got out safe,” a fourth commenter observed.

Now, we don’t know for sure that Kail was referring to Leah with her cult comments.

But it seems unlikely that she has two friends who were sucked in by quasi-religious online pyramid schemes.

To her credit, Kail did not seem to be throwing shade at Leah, and was instead commenting on how even bright, capable people can fall victim to the cult mentality.

Thankfully, Leah appears to have severed all ties with Mastery in Transformational Training, the shady organization that conned her in 2019.

Kail seems to have been instrumental in helping Leah escape her obligations to the MITT, but it wasn’t long after that the two friends went their separate ways.

Perhaps Lowry’s latest podcast will remind Messer of how much she’s indebted to her former BFF.
