Unlike some of her sisters and her rebellious cousin Amy, Jessa Duggar has chosen to remain faithful to her problematic parents, Jim Bob and Michelle.
Even before the Josh Duggar child pornography scandal, Jessa had ample reason to never talk to her folks again.
After all, these are the same people who didn’t take any action after Josh molested four of his sisters under their roof.
But despite all of the atrocities her parents have been party to, Jessa has continued to publicly support them.
In fact, this week, she doubled down on that support when a fan suggested that Jessa had been pressured into remain in her father’s corner.
It all started when Jessa posted a photo of Jim Bob holding her daughter Fern.
Fern just turned 1 this week, and as it happens, she shares a birthday with Jim Bob.
“Had a wonderful time yesterday celebrating these birthday buddies! Love them both dearly!”
Even Jessa’s followers are repulsed by Jim Bob at this point, so it was only a matter of time before the negative comments started rolling in.
“Blink twice if your parents are making you write these posts,” one fan joked.
Jessa was clearly in a combative mood, and she quickly fired back.
“I happen to deeply love and appreciate my parents. I know I have my own flaws, as do they, but we choose to extend grace to one another and we have a wonderful relationship,” Jessa replied to the hater.
“If you cannot handle that, feel free to move along,” she continued.
Jessa received a ton of “likes” for her comment, but elsewhere on the internet, she was roasted for her remarks.
“What ‘flaws’ is Jessa referring to that she has that even compares to the flaws of her parents?” one Reddit user asked, according to UK tabloid The Sun.
“The ‘flaws’ your parents have, lying under oath, smacking a baby for getting off a blanket, shunning family members, and protect a monster like Josh,” this person continued.
“Those aren’t just ‘flaws’ those are valid reasons to distance yourself.”
Others defended Jessa, pointing out that this was one of her lesser tantrums.
“Though I disagree with her statement, I thought she actually handled it better than the baby shower big mad,” another redditor wrote.
“This is what it means to live in the public eye. She chose it. Now she gets to decide how to handle it.”
The commenter was referring to the recent controversy over Jill Duggar’s baby shower.
Fans noticed that Michelle Duggar was not in attendance at the event, probably because of her longstanding feud with Jill.
This simple observation caused Jessa to blow her top.
“These rumors make me angry, and I’m here to put a stop to it. The narrative these kinds of comments put forward is a false one. Simply not true,” Jessa fumed.
“Quit spreading hate. [Jill] has family support— stop this nonsense,” she added.
Needless to say, it’s a little ironic for a member of the Duggar family to accuse others of spreading hate.
Also, if Jessa wants everyone to believe all is well within her family, she should probably stop freaking out at the slightest provocation.
