Anfisa Nava Celebrates: I’m Now a Full U.S. Citizen!

Over the weekend, 90 Day Fiance alum Jorge Nava got married to Rhoda, the mother of his children.

Jorge’s ex also had some very good news to share in the past week.

At the very end of July, Anfisa Arkhipchenko Nava — Jorge’s ex-wife — shared a very important update.

She is now a naturalized United States citizen!

“7/27/22,” Anfisa captioned her Instagram post late last week.

Her caption included an American flag emoji.

In case that were not clear enough, the photo showed her standing in front of US Citizenship and Immigration Services.

The folder full of documents in one hand and the physical American flag in the other are pretty self-explanatory.

Though Anfisa is not the first on the series to obtain full citizenship, it’s safe to say that not everyone makes it that far.

Marrying by the K-1 visa deadline is just one step on a long list of hurdles, applications, and tests.

In Anfisa’s case, she and Jorge began their divorce process in the back half of 2020.

But that was hardly the end of their marriage.

Realistically, they only had about one year to enjoy being married — more or less — before the unthinkable happened.

Anfisa and Jorge married in August 2017 despite some … serious red flags.

Fans believed that she just wanted Jorge’s (alleged) money. They believed that he just wanted her hot body.

Were fans right about both of them? At least partially, sure. But they did care about each other … up to a point.

However, the couple’s married life only lasted for a matter of months.

In early 2018, Arizona police arrested Jorge for (gasp!) marijuana possession.

Jorge is a marijuana grower by trade in California, but was transporting the naughty plant through Arizona.

We ridicule prohibition laws because they deserve only contempt. But Arizona’s court system takes them very seriously.

In late 2018, Jorge entered prison to begin serving out his sentence.

He would remain behind bars until May of 2020, when he finally breathed free air for the first time.

Ahead of Jorge’s incarceration, the two had resolved to remain together.

However, that is not how things worked out.

Jorge went through a body transformation behind bars. Anfisa went through her own changes.

First and foremost, Anfisa went on a fitness journey. The results speak for themselves.

She ended up winning a swimsuit bodybuilding competition. One can easily see why.

Jorge found out online, just like the rest of us. That could not have been easy.

However, Jorge has moved on. He and his new wife now share two small children.

And Anfisa is now an American citizen. Congratulations!
