Leonardo DiCaprio is undeniably one of Hollywood’s versatile actors.
But while he might be revered for the wide array of roles and film projects he’s chosen over the course of his lengthy career, when it comes to his love life, Leo never strays from his very specific tastes.
The screen icon has been dating women in their early twenties since before some of his most recent girlfriends were born.
And now, it looks as though Leo intends to stick with his habit of never sharing his bed with anyone over the ripe old age of 25.
Several sources have now confirmed that DiCaprio and fellow actor Camila Morrone have parted ways after four years of dating.
There’s no been official word as to what caused the split or which party initiated the breakup — but c’mon.
Camila recently turned 25, and 47-year-old Leo has a streak to maintain.
The breakup has inspired countless memes and a few comprehensive mathematical breakdowns of Leo’s dating history, such as the one seen above.
But while the internet is having a laugh at the situation (which we fully encourage), it’s worth noting that Leo and Camila’s relationship was no mere fling.
The couple was together for four years, after all, and there were many who believed that Leo might have met his artistic and intellectual match in Camila.
Yes, like most of Leo’s exes, Camila has done some modeling.
But she’s also a serious actress who received rave reviews for her work in the 2019 indie drama Mickey and the Bear.
“It’s definitely not a casual relationship. Camila spends a lot of time at his house,” a source told People magazine shortly after the relationship began.
“Camila is long known as Leo’s girlfriend. And Leo introduced her to both of his parents long ago,” the source continued.
Around that same time, Camila spoke out about the stigma against relationships with large age gaps.
“There’s so many relationships in Hollywood — and in the history of the world — where people have large age gaps,” she told People.
“I just think anyone should be able to date who they want to date,” the actress continued.
“I feel like there should always be an identity besides who you’re dating. … I understand the association, but I’m confident that will continue to slip away and be less of a conversation.”
Clearly, Leo agrees with the assertion that people should be able to date whomever they please.
And he’ll probably continue doing exactly that for many decades to come.
The spilt seems to have happened abruptly, as the couple vacationed in St. Tropez together earlier this month.
We may never know exactly what caused these two to pull the plug on their romance — but the speculation is mostly running in one direction.
Fortunately, Camila has a career and a following all her own.
The actress has several films under her belt, and she’ll soon star in the highly-anticipated series adaptation of Taylor Jenkins Reid’s novel Daisy Jones and the Six.
As for Leo — well, something tells us he’ll manage to recover in time.
