Prince William might want nothing to do with Prince Harry, but their father King Charles III is showing a bit more respect.
Despite several calls for the new King to strip Harry and Meghan Markle of their Duke and Duchess of Sussex titles, palace sources via Page Six are now declaring that will NEVER happen!

Ever since the Archewell founders began attacking the royal family in interviews after their exit from the UK in 2020, there have been many wishing to see them pay the price. Most significantly, haters don’t want them to be able to use their Sussex titles, which they were given on their May 2018 wedding day by Queen Elizabeth II. In light of their Netflix docuseries, outrage has sparked once again online, including from Piers Morgan who wrote on Twitter:
“King Charles needs to strip these two poisonous rats of all remaining titles and ties to the Royal Family and needs to do it fast before they destroy the monarchy.”
Damn!!
You can always count on Piers for a hot take. He and all other haters better get used to the titles because they aren’t going anywhere anytime soon! Addressing the situation on Tuesday, a palace insider explained the very important reason why the new monarch is unlikely going to make a change, dishing:
“Stripping their title is not something the king would likely ever consider … mostly because it would be too petty and punitive.”
LOLz! It’s true though! Also, the expert thinks it would only pour fuel on the fire, noting:
“It would only lead to the Sussexes claiming that it was a retaliatory action and proof they were never wanted in the royal family.”
Oooh. Now that’s a great point! It would be a major divide for the royal family — and it could even deepen the already intense feud! But Harry and Meghan might be up to that on their own…
As Netflix detailed in the latest trailer for the second half of Harry & Meghan, the prince and Suits alum are planning to come after the royal family and institution in the final three episodes of their documentary series. It’s unclear just what lengths the couple will go to put their UK relatives and former colleagues on blast — but it does appear like William will be a focal point. In the teaser, Harry argued:
“They were happy to lie to protect my brother [Prince William]. They were never willing to tell the truth to protect us.”
Elsewhere, the Archetypes podcast host claimed nobody from the palace protected her amid the invasive press mayhem she was wrapped up in when her romance with Harry was first announced:
“I wasn’t thrown to the wolves, I was being fed to the wolves.”
While we’ll have to wait for the episodes to drop on Thursday to see the full scope of the allegations against the royals, the parents of Archie, 3, and Lilibet, 1, are reportedly going to talk about being bullied by palace officials, according to Page Six sources. Yeesh.

Interestingly, even if Charles ever decided to get rid of the Sussexes titles, Meghan would still be granted a different special moniker. According to royal protocol, the Deal or No Deal alum would become Princess Henry. Per the rules, only princesses born into the family are allowed to keep their name, otherwise, they use their husband’s name. While the 38-year-old prince goes by Harry, his real name is Henry Charles Albert David.
Princess Catherine AKA Kate Middleton, for example, was given the title the Duchess of Cambridge on her wedding day. Following Queen Elizabeth’s death, she was made the Princess of Wales. Technically, her official title is Princess William of Wales, according to an expert at Debrett’s, a UK authority on etiquette and titles. But, of course, that’s a bit of a tongue-twister, so she’s more commonly known as Princess Catherine. The more ya know!
All that said, nothing is stopping Harry from giving up his titles, should he choose. Joe Little, the managing editor at Majesty, told the outlet:
“Harry could relinquish his princely title if he wishes, just as Princess Patricia of Connaught, a granddaughter of Queen Victoria, did when she married a commoner just over a century ago.”
One angry royal watcher similarly argued:
“Given that the Sussexes called the show simply ‘Harry & Meghan,’ they should take it upon themselves to stop using their titles. They’re sending mixed messages otherwise. Do they want to be normal, albeit extremely powerful people — or do they want to live in the shadows of their former royal lives?”
So far, they’ve made no signs of wanting to get rid of their tiles. Instead, Harry and Meghan have been fighting to get their children royal titles as well. Charles is expected to grant them prince and princess titles, but it seems he is waiting until both the docuseries and Harry’s memoir Spare are out before making the change official. Thoughts?
