King Charles Taunted By Protesters With ‘Not My King’ Signs During Royal Engagement — Look!

King Charles III was met with angry protesters at his latest royal engagement!

On Thursday, the 74-year-old received a mixed welcome as he made a grand arrival in Buckinghamshire, where he was celebrating Milton Keynes’ new status as a city. According to reporters at the royal visit, such as Heart News East and Richard Palmer, there were about 20 anti-monarchy demonstrators in the crowd. They held signs that read “Not My King” and “Not Fit For Purpose.” Oof!

The protesters were also impossible to miss as they stood at the entrance of the event with large, bright yellow signs. They were also spread out in the crowd so Charles would be forced to pass some naysayers as he made his way through. After stepping out of his car, Charles made a show of ignoring the haters by greeting a portion of the crowd that was mostly supporters. He then took his time giving handshakes and accepting flowers from those happy to see him. Take a look:

As you can hear in the videos, the demonstrators’ chants were drowned out by repeated calls of “God save the king.” It sounds like the visit went smoothly otherwise, and there weren’t any acts of violence aside from the signs and shouting. Better than the outcome of some of Charles and Queen Camilla’s visits lately — you know, like when they were pelted with eggs!

Interestingly, this isn’t the first time Charles has been met with rowdy crowd members during recent trips. Earlier this month while arriving at the University of East London, a student yelled:

“Bring back [Prince] Harry, please. Can you bring him back, sir?”

While not as bad as having a group of folks condemning his role as king, it is still awkward as hell considering the family’s ongoing feud! Charles made light of it by asking who the student was talking about (presumably because he didn’t hear the full question) and then giving a soft chuckle. This comes amid uncertainty about whether or not Harry and Meghan Markle will attend his coronation in May.

Reports have gone back and forth about the Sussexes’ possible presence at the historic event. Earlier this week, royal sources told Page Six the couple would 100% be receiving invitations (set to be sent out ASAP) despite the drama. That said, others have suggested Harry won’t attend unless Charles and Prince William agree to have a meeting with him. So, it’s really all up in the air at this point! Thoughts? Sound OFF (below)!
