Jenna Ortega & Fred Armisen Team Up To Remake The Parent Trap On SNL — Plus More Highlights HERE!

Jenna Ortega gave it her all on this week’s episode of Saturday Night Live.

The 20-year-old actress stepped onto the Studio 8H stage over the weekend to make her debut – becoming the youngest host this year! And this might have been the funniest episode so far in the season, so get ready for some major laughs, Perezcious readers!

Given that it’s Oscars weekend, the sketch comedy series obviously spoofed the red carpet event during the cold open. Portraying two Access Hollywood hosts, Heidi Gardner and Andrew Dismuskes joked about several of the nominated stars, including Everything Everywhere All At Once actress Jamie Lee Curtis and The Banshees of Inisherin actors Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson. Shout out to Chloe Fineman’s hilarious impression! And considering it’s the anniversary of the slap heard ‘round the world, SNL couldn’t resist mocking slapgate once again. Ch-ch-check it out (below):

Afterward, Jenna opened the show with a monologue that poked fun at the various horror and “dark” roles she’s done throughout her career – including Wednesday, X, Scream V, Scream VI, and a scary remix of a toothpaste ad – and told the viewers:

“A lot of people assume that I am dark and twisted in real life because of these roles that I play. But I am not like that at all. I think there’s just something about my face where people see it, and they’re like, ‘Hey! Let’s throw blood on that.’”

LOLz! While the You star seemed a little nervous at first, she became more playful and at ease when her Wednesday co-star (and SNL alum) Fred Armisen joined her onstage. See the sweet reunion (below):

Elsewhere in the show, Jenna teamed up with Armisen to spoof a remake of The Parent Trap. With Bowen Yang acting as the director, he told a crew member (Armisen) to act as Jenna’s body double for the scene where Annie and Hallie figure out their twins. Basically, it is roughly five minutes of the 56-year-old actor hilariously ad-libbing his way through the sketch – including commenting on how “hot” Shawn Mendes is and sharing his love for Lisa Rinna. See what happens (below):

Too funny!!!

Later, Jenna appears in a prerecorded skit with the “Please Don’t Destroy” guys. The burnt-out star joins the group on a road trip – and as you can expect, the thrill of the adventure quickly goes away once reality sets back in. Check it out (below):

And hands down, the best sketch of the night was a sketch about a CW-esque teen romance show having their two characters break up with each other in front of a Waffle House. Yep, Waffle House. While this dramatic scene plays out, complete chaos erupts inside of the restaurant! You have to the hilarious sketch (below):

HA!

For the night, The 1975 served as the musical guest, performing their songs I’m In Love With You and Oh Caroline. See (below):
