It’s a sad day for Wendy Williams fans…
A source close to the talk show icon said her highly anticipated The Wendy Experience Podcast is no more. While speaking with The Sun last week, the insider spilled:
“It’s strange, because she is saying there is no podcast, but is also telling people she’s going to return to TV. It’s hard to figure out what is based in reality.”
“Hard to figure out what is based in reality”? It really sounds like she’s struggling… This is such sad news! We were all hoping to see Wendy get back into the groove of doing what she loves. And a podcast seemed like a good fit! She could do it from anywhere, she could work her own hours…
Could this not be of her choosing, though? If you click on the link to the 58-year-old’s website and go to the “read more” section of the podcast it says “account is suspended.” HUH?? Did something happen and get Wendy kicked off the platform? Her merch store is still up and running amid the account being suspended. So strange.
The source did say she’s saying she’ll be returning to TV, though. If there’s truth to that, maybe we’ll get to see her on air soon! Wendy announced her podcast last summer on Instagram and in November at a WBLS event she claimed it would be launching “in a few weeks,” but it seems like that’s not going to happen now.
You can see one of her teaser posts (below):
Clearly she was planning on continuing with the podcast at the time, but something got in her way. But is it health problems? Or something else?
The Wendy Williams Show host was spotted last week “drinking cosmos” in a New York City bar — just months after she left rehab in Miami! An eyewitness told the outlet at the time:
“She was staring off into the distance until someone she knew happened to walk in.”
The person who walked in was none other than Naughty But Nice podcast host Rob Shuter, and his presence seemed to bring some life back into the daytime TV star. He told PageSix the morning after he enjoyed some drinks with Wendy:
“We had a bite, we had some drinks, but then when we were getting ready to say goodbye, Wendy didn’t really want us to leave.”
Another insider told the outlet Wendy wasn’t casually drinking, adding “she kept saying she wanted to get drunk tonight.”
Did a talk with another podcast host change things? Or was she already looking elsewhere? She also reportedly claimed to be moving to El Lay in the coming weeks, so maybe that’s why she hinted she’d be returning to TV? Could she be traveling to Cali to get back on stage? Only time will tell!
