Wendy Williams is letting some potentially questionable people into her life — or at least, that’s what her inner circle thinks!
According to Page Six on Thursday, friends of the 58-year-old television personality have been worried about the “new company” that has recently entered her life. In fact, an insider said to the outlet that her pals fear that these people will try and “take advantage” of Wendy since she is “not in the best state of mind” right now. Oh no! The source explained:
“Wendy does not have many real friends, but the few that are coming around are causing some concern for the people that do truly care about her. The real concern is when she has people over her house. She has jewelry and designer purses laying around. Wendy is not in the best state of mind so unfortunately people will take advantage of that.”
That’s heartbreaking to hear. As you may know, the former Wendy Williams Show host has sparked concern among fans for her well-being over the past couple of years, too. Last year, she went to rehab after she relapsed from alcohol while dealing with some other health issues. The mom of one eventually returned home two months later and shared that she was feeling “better than ever” at the time.

However, Wendy raised some eyebrows once again when she was spotted drinking again in March while out at Fresco by Scotto and another bar called Townhouse in New York City. An insider told Page Six last month that the radio host was overheard telling her group that she wanted to “get drunk” that day, but her rep later told the outlet that Wendy was simply celebrating a new chapter in her life:
“She is happy and wanted to celebrate as she has a new lease on life.”
Beyond the latest sighting, Page Six also reported that the star was also going through some new changes as she planned to move out of her El Lay penthouse. Her rep shut down the allegation, though, saying that Wendy was just getting rid of some items:
“Wendy is getting rid of items for spring cleaning, this is what people do this time of year. It’s a new chapter for Wendy, and she wants new things. This is a common gesture people do, and Wendy is no different.”
But another insider said she’s “really lonely”, explaining:
“Wendy is really lonely right now and that combination — plus her major bankroll — is not a good combination. Everyone is not coming to the table with good intentions. Back in the day this many people would have never be around her, much less coming over to her home.”
So sad. We’re wishing Wendy nothing but the best right now. And we hope she’s surrounded only by those who have her best interests at heart. Reactions, Perezcious readers? Let us know in the comments below.
