Bad Bunny's Spider-Man Universe Movie 'El Muerto' Pulled from Sony Schedule

Sad news for Bad Bunny fans.

According to a report from Deadline published on Wednesday (June 21), the 29-year-old Un Verano Sin Ti performer’s Spider-Man universe movie has been pulled from Sony’s release schedule.

The movie was titled El Muerto and is set to be directed by Jonas Cuarón. The film would mark the first time a Latino character would lead a Marvel live-action film.

El Muerto was announced in October with writer Gareth Dunet-Alcocer attached to pen the script. It was originally slated to hit theaters on January 12, 2024.

Deadline notes that the film is reportedly still in development, but finalizing a release date has become complicated amidst Bad Bunny‘s touring schedule and the ongoing WGA strike.
