Adam Rich passed away back in January 2023 and his cause of death has now been revealed.

The former child star, best known for his work as Nicholas Bradford on the 1970s television series Eight is Enough, was found dead inside his home on January 8 at the age of 54.

At the time, law enforcement said there were no signs of foul play.

People reports that the Los Angeles Medical Examiner’s Office says Adam passed away due to “effects of fentanyl” and his death is listed as an accident.

Adam starred in productions like Fantasy Island, CHiPs, and Small Wonder, as well as a voice role on the animated series Dungeons & Dragons.

He later played himself in the 2003 David Spade comedy Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star, and played Crocodile Dundee in the TV series Reel Comedy.

In recent years, he was featured in the CNN series The History of the Sitcom in 2021.
