Disney is making cuts to its streaming service as a way to save money, and mentioned in a filing with the SEC that they will lose around $1.5 billion to $1.8 billion because they are removing some of the shows and movies from their streaming platforms.

In previous years, shows that had been cancelled remained on the service until at least the fall or even later, if Hulu had secured a longer deal. Today, that is not the case, and both Alaska Daily and The Company You Keep will be removed next month.

It’s reported that this will be a regular thing for all future cancellations of ABC series after one season.

The news comes just after Paramount+ revealed its own plans to erase Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies, Inside Amy Schumer and over 25 other titles from its platform in order to cut costs.
