Nicola Coughlan actually sparkled on the pink carpet in London this week for the Barbie premiere!

The 36-year-old actress took a note from co-star Margot Robbie and channeled her own, favorite Barbie doll for the event, and put a little Bridgerton twist on it.

Nicola shared her getting ready story with British Vogue, opening up about the doll she paid tribute to and how her look was also inspired by Bridgerton at the same time.

“I was a huge Barbie fan as a little girl,” she told the outlet. “To even be a tiny part of this movie is incredible.”

For her premiere look, and in the movie, Nicola didn’t hesitate to channel Sparkle Eyes Barbie.

“I felt like I was a little kid again. It’s a huge Hollywood movie – I never expected [Jacqueline] to ask my opinion on it,” she says.

In the film, fans will see Nicola, as Diplomat Barbie, wear a sparkling pink and silver dress, just like the doll.

For the premiere, she replicated her look: “I thought it’d be amazing to reference the look from the movie, so when I spoke to [stylist] Aimee [Croysdill], I said I’d love to wear something silver and inspired by [the Sparkle Eyes Barbie].”

As for the Bridgerton twist, Nicola added a corset to her look.

“I’ve had the privilege of wearing so many incredible costumes on Bridgerton, especially in season three,” she shared. “I really got a new appreciation for corsetry and Aimee and I said it would be so nice to start incorporating the corset [on the red carpet]. It’s a little bit of a bridge between Barbie and Bridgerton.”

Nicola‘s Wiederhoeft dress, was made from Tencel and embroidered with Swarovski glass crystals. She completed her look with Messika jewelry.
