Cillian Murphy Weighs In On Playing a Ken in a 'Barbie' Sequel, If He's Seen the Movie Yet

Cillian Murphy centers Oppenheimer, Barbie‘s main competition at the box office this week, but is he also down to experience life in plastic?

The 47-year-old star was asked what he thought about playing a Ken alongside the likes of Ryan Gosling and Simu Liu if a Barbie sequel is ordered during a recent interview.

He revealed if he’d be down and shared what he thought about the new, very pink and glittery blockbuster.

Speaking to Cinefilos, Cillian said “Sure,” he’d be down to play Ken.

“Let’s read the script. Let’s have a conversation,” he added with excitement.

Has he seen the first movie yet? At the time of the interview, he had not. But he was looking forward to it. “I can’t wait to see the movie,” he gushed. “I think it’s great for cinema. You know, we’ve got all these great movies happening this summer.”

While Barbie featured Ryan, Simu, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Ncuti Gatwa and Scott Evans as Ken and Michael Cera as Allan, we recently learned that several other stars had to turn down a chance to play the characters.
