More details are emerging about Ariana Grande and Ethan Slater’s relationship, and WOW…

It’s been a wild week for the POV singer. Last Monday, news broke that she and her husband of two years, Dalton Gomez, had been separated since January, and are officially “heading towards divorce.” Just a few days after that, we learned the 30-year-old songstress had already moved on with her Wicked co-star. But fans were quick to read into the timeline of their relationship, as they both had long-term partners that they seemingly turned their backs on pretty quickly. This certainly wouldn’t be the first time co-stars crossed the line with one another…

In Ariana’s case, we know that Dalton had also been “dating over the last few months,” but was still “hoping to make things work,” despite a failed reconciliation in January. Seeing as she started filming in December, it’s unlikely she was already having an affair by then. However, in Ethan’s case, the timeline between when he and his partner of 10 years, separated, and when he and Ariana started hooking up, is a bit murkier…

See, Ethan went into filming happily married to Lilly Jay. In fact, they had just welcomed their son Ezra in August — just four months before filming started! Talk about Wicked timing…

Page Six reported last Friday that the news of Ethan’s relationship with Ariana “blindsided” poor Lilly. An insider dished:

“It’s horrible. They were high school sweethearts. They have a baby! She’s a wreck.”

Now, more information has come out, and it DEFINITELY doesn’t make Ethan and Ari look any better.

A source spoke with Us Weekly Tuesday about how exactly things went down between the Broadway actor and his estranged wife, and we now know they were absolutely NOT broken up before he and Ariana started their affair! The insider says he only just broke up with her a matter of days before news broke online of their tryst:

“Ethan sat Lilly down a few days before the news broke about him and Ariana and said that he wanted a divorce. Lilly never saw it coming!”

WHAT!

Just to be clear, news surfaced late last week that he and the Into You singer were a romantic pair, so that means Ethan likely broke the news to Lilly once he saw the headlines swirling that Ariana and Dalton were over… He probably knew it was only a matter of time before his affair would be exposed. Sick.

What’s even worse is the insider claimed the new couple weren’t shy about displaying some PDA on the set of Wicked, which paused filming nearly two weeks ago due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike:

“Ariana and Ethan weren’t careful. They’d hold hands on set in between takes. They were sloppy and not hiding it.”

Seriously?? How AWFUL.

Ariana’s reps have since denied the claims, but they seemingly corroborate a DeuxMoi blind item from “a few months ago” that alluded to the pairing. See (below):

How messed up. Ethan was JUST boasting about his “caring and wonderful” wife in May, six months after celebrating 10 years together in November. What a betrayal.
