A social media stuntman has died doing what he was famous for — performing a high-stakes climb on a high rise.
Remi Lucidi, who went by Remi Enigma on social media, embarked on what he couldn’t possibly have known would be his final adventure last week — attempting to scale the Tregunter Tower in Hong Kong.

According to Hong Kong officials via the South China Morning Post, the 30-year-old arrived at the residential building at around 6:00 p.m. Thursday, telling a security guard on duty he was there to visit a friend on the 40th floor. However, by the time the guard had confirmed with the resident that Remi did not know them, the stuntman had already made his way onto an elevator. Sneaking into skyscrapers was what he did.
Security footage showed Remi getting off the elevator on the 49th floor, before hitting the stairs to get to the top of the 721-foot skyscraper. Law enforcement told the outlet they found a roof-access hatch open but were unable to immediately locate the French social media star. The eerie thing is, he was last seen alive at 7:38 p.m. when he was reportedly pounding on the window of the building’s penthouse on the 68th floor — seemingly in an attempt to get the attention of the maid inside, who promptly called emergency services at the surreal sight.

The extreme sports enthusiast’s body and camera, which contained footage of his previous climbing feats, were ultimately both later found on a nearby patio, according to the outlet.
As of now, officials haven’t determined an exact cause of death, but the investigation remains open. A source told the site:
“A preliminary investigation suggested the man was an extreme sports enthusiast. It is possible that he got trapped outside the penthouse while practising an extreme sport in the building, and he knocked on the window for help, but accidentally fell to his death.”
Gurjit Kaur, owner of the hostel where Lucidi was apparently staying, remembered him as a “friendly and humble guy.” He told the news org:
“He was healthy and fit and happy-faced. I feel very sad.”
An employee of the hostel also opened up about his interactions with the late daredevil, remembering that Lucidi had told him he was looking forward to going on some “hikes” while in the area:
“He told me he was going to hike a mountain when I asked where he was going. He said he wanted to hike a lot when he was here.”
So, so sad.
Our thoughts are with Lucidi’s loved ones during this unimaginable time. Rest in peace.
