American Pie’s Seann William Scott Made HOW MUCH For Playing Stifler?!

As the SAG-AFTRA strike continues on, people are listening to what actors from all ranks have to say about Hollywood pay!

Take, for example, Seann William Scott — the thespian who played Steve Stifler in the American Pie films. In a resurfaced Rick Eisen Show interview that’s recently gone viral amid the Screen Actors Guild and Writers Guild of America strikes, the 46-year-old actor said he was paid a wildly small amount for the film that grossed over $235 MILLION.

While speaking to host Rick Eisen a year ago, Seann revealed he made a measly $8,000 for his performance — if not LESS:

“I think so, yeah, because I remember afterwards I bought a used Thunderbird for like $5,000 or maybe $6,000, I’m like, ‘Oh yeah, baby’. I don’t know what happened to the other $2,000 because I ended up having to work at the LA Zoo as a churro guy, so maybe it was even less than $8,000.”

Wow. Holy s**t.

American Pie was one of the highest-grossing and most popular films of 1999. It was a cultural phenomenon! With its original budget of $11 million, it garnered a $243 million profit — there’s no reason one of the most beloved characters of the film should’ve had to take up work at the Los Angeles Zoo to make ends meet!

He continued on to say he worked at the LA Zoo “waiting for the movie to come out,” but also had another “odd job” before then. The Dude, Where’s My Car? alum argued it was “a lot of money at the time,” but compared to what the movie raked in, it definitely isn’t much…

In 2011, it was reported by The Hollywood Reporter he and his co-star Jason Biggs were paid around $5 million to return for American Reunion — which also garnered $235 million at the box office! While the budget for Reunion was much higher at $50 million, that’s still a huge profit for the production company.

Still, at least he got a comfortable paycheck that time! Most working actors don’t, even with big names! And that’s exactly what actors like Kimiko Glenn, Robert Carradine, and Mandy Moore are talking about when they stand up for actors’ rights! The 39-year-old This Is Us star opened up recently about how Disney was allegedly paying her “very tiny, like 81-cent checks” while her “business manager” got even less:

“I was talking with my business manager who said he’s received a residual for a penny and two pennies.”

This Is Us was the biggest show on network TV for years. That’s beyond ridiculous!
