Barbie is on track to hit a major milestone at the box office – surpassing $1 billion in global ticket sales. Will it be one of the fasted to pull off the feat?

Deadline predicted that Barbie is expected to cross the billion dollar mark by Sunday (August 6) or the following day at the latest. With its July 21 release date, that would mean that it took 17 or 18 days to cross the milestone.

We were curious how that run compared to previous blockbusters that managed to gross $1 billion and did some digging. Impressively, one film managed to hit the landmark revenue in less than a week.

Barbie will be one of the 10 fastest releases to hit the peak if it continues hitting projections. It will also be one of only two movies that are not part of a franchise to pull it off.
