There’s been an update on Tory Lanez‘s sentencing in his trial against Megan Thee Stallion.
In December 2022, the 31-year-old rapper was found guilty of shooting the 28-year-old “Savage” star in the feet during an incident that occurred in 2020.
His sentencing is expected to take place on Monday (August 7) and in a new report, AP shared details from the sentencing memorandum, including the prison term recommended by prosecutors.

The outlet writes that prosecutors have asked the judge to hand down a 13-year sentence to Tory. The memorandum argues that in addition to the crimes Tory was convicted for, he is responsible for re-traumatizing Megan with social media posts about the case that allegedly encouraged his followers to attack her.
Megan may appear in court on Monday to read a victim impact statement, but one may also be read for her in her absence.
Tory‘s lawyers also submitted their own sentencing memo, in which they wrote that he should get probation and be released from jail to enter a residential substance abuse program.
They claim that the evidence that led to his conviction was “questionable at best” and as a result his lack of remorse should not figure into his sentencing. The memo also adds that if the allegations against Tory were true, then childhood trauma and alcohol abuse would be factors in his behavior.
Tory‘s lawyers plan to appeal his conviction.
