It appears that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have selected the next project that they’ll be tackling with Netflix.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex hit it big on the streaming platform with the release of their self-titled documentary in late 2022. They also have a docuseries about The Invictus Games in the works.
Now it appears that they’ll be adapting the bestselling novel Meet Me at the Lake from author Carley Fortune. The deal is rumored to have carried a hefty price tag, too.

It’s unclear if the couple will be adapting the novel as a movie or series. However, Penguin Random House did confirm to Forbes that their production company Archewell Products had secured the rights. Other outlets reported estimates that the deal cost as much as $3.8 million, though no one confirmed or denied that number to Forbes.
Interestingly, while the novel is fictionalized, it does draw parallels to Meghan and Prince Harry‘s life and relationship. For instance, a character loses a parent to a car accident just like Prince Harry lost Princess Diana.
Carley made it clear that she was excited to see what the couple does with her book, writing that she was “so thrilled about working with Netflix and Archewell to bring Meet Me at the Lake to the screen.”
The news about their project comes after the royal couple terminated a deal with Spotify. There were rumors that they would also cut ties with Netflix, which representatives at the streaming platform denied.
