Disney Continues Hitting Back on Ron DeSantis as Politician Claims He's 'Moved On'

Ron DeSantis might be done with Disney, but Disney isn’t done with him.

During a recent interview with CNBC, the 44-year-old governor of Florida (who is currently campaigning for the Republican nomination for the 2024 presidential election) signaled that he had “basically moved on” from his vendetta against the company.

If you forgot, he took issue with Disney speaking out against his controversial “Don’t Say Gay” bill, which was signed into law in March 2022.

What followed was a series of lawsuits as Ron attempted to strip the “woke” company of many freedoms that its Disney World park had enjoyed in Florida. We have a full run-down of the face-off.

Now that he is seemingly attempting to distance himself from the battle, Disney is continuing to hit back at the lawsuits in a series of new legal moves and countersuits.

In newly filed court documents, Disney is taking aim at the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District (CFTOD). If you forgot, Ron created the organization earlier in his head-to-head with the company.

Rolling Stone examined the new legal moves, which entail “countersuing the government for breach of contract.”

Disney continues to put forth the claim that Ron‘s actions against the company were retaliatory. The company is arguing that it “has suffered and will continue to suffer damages, including consequential damages” as a result of the CFTOD’s actions and is attempting to get the courts to force the organization to honor an agreement that Disney entered before Ron founded the group.

The countersuit also deals with freedom of speech, which Disney argues Ron is infringing upon by seemingly attacking them for speaking out.
