Melissa Joan Hart had to pose for photos with Britney Spears on what she described as “the worst day of my life.”
The 47-year-old Sabrina the Teenage Witch actress looked back on the day that she and Britney hit the red carpet together at the premiere for her movie Drive Me Crazy while on the Pod Meets World podcast.
“If you look at my eyes and how red they are, I had been crying all evening,” Melissa said about a photo of the pair on the carpet. “At the time I thought this was the worst day of my life.”
What happened? She explained.

Melissa proceeded to explain that she had been told that she was being fired from Sabrina after posing for Maxim.
“My lawyer shows up and goes, ‘You did a photo shoot for Maxim magazine?’” she said. “I’m like, ‘Yes, I did.’ They’re like, ‘Well, you’re being sued and fired from your show. So don’t talk to the press. Don’t do anything.’”
Thankfully it wound up being a confusion. She explained that the show was upset that she was referred to by her character’s name on the cover, which she obviously had no control over.
After writing an “apology letter,” it thankfully blew over for her, and she was able to move on. However, the moment is forever captured on camera thanks to the pics with the pop star.
Why was Britney at the premiere? She contributed her song “(You Drive Me) Crazy” to the soundtrack.
Did you know that two other actresses almost played Sabrina?!
