Get to Know Actor Daniel K. Isaac, Who Is Wowing L.A. Audiences in 'Every Brilliant Thing' (Exclusive)

Billions actor Daniel K. Isaac is currently wowing Los Angeles audiences with his solo performance in the play Every Brilliant Thing, which is running right now at the Geffen Playhouse.

In the show, Daniel takes audiences on a tender coming-of-age journey that reminds us to pay attention to life’s smallest joys—and to each other. The 70-minute one-man show has been getting rave reviews and you can catch it through October 15.

Daniel is best known for his role as Ben Kim on the Showtime series Billions and he also had a memorable guest spot in the Max series The Other Two.

We caught up with Daniel to learn 10 Fun Facts about him that fans likely don’t already know. Check them out below:

  1. I’m an Eagle Scout. Let’s go camping! But somewhere with no mosquitoes. Mosquitoes love me.
  2. I have a scar from the Rose Bowl! Apparently, I was squirming in my mom’s arms at our first (and last) football game and I smacked into the chair in front of us. I would go to the ER two more times as a kid because of head injuries. It’s a wonder that I have a solo show memorized in there.
  3. I graduated high school at the age of 16. I didn’t get my drivers license until after I graduated!
  4. When I was in high school, I voluntarily put myself in conversion therapy. I don’t recommend it. I do recommend therapy-therapy.
  5. I waited tables and bartended for over seven years in New York City, even after I was appearing on a TV show.

  1. I can’t handle spicy food. My ancestors are very ashamed of me.
  2. I’m lactose intolerant. I learned this when I was studying abroad in London and kept getting intense stomach aches and cramps after having tea. A fellow Asian American student suggested that I stop putting milk in my tea and I have missed gelato and brie ever since.
  3. I made my playwriting debut with “ONCE UPON A (korean) TIME” in the fall of 2022 with Ma-Yi Theater Company in New York City. I thought it was the hardest artistic thing I’d ever done…until I started working on this one person play!
  4. I’ve recorded ten audiobooks. As an only child with a single mom who couldn’t afford cable TV, books from the library were my refuge growing up. I never imagined getting paid to read! But I have never dubbed a TV show. My new bucket list goal is to dub a Korean drama.
  5. I have a really loud laugh. I have been shushed multiple times for laughing too loud at the theatre. The actors never complain though. I just can’t surprise friends when I attend their shows. They know I’m there when they hear me howling in the audience.

Catch Daniel in the play Every Brilliant Thing at the Geffen Playhouse through October 15.
