This was no coincidence…
Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner (attempted to) put breakup rumors to rest on Sunday night by stepping out together at the Critics’ Choice Awards. Timmy even gushed about his partner in a heartfelt portion of his Best Actor speech, saying:
“And lastly, I’ll just say, thank you to my partner of three years. Thank you for our foundation. I love you. I couldn’t do this without you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, thank you so much.”

In the audience, the model was seen mouthing, “I love you, too.” Very sweet! And it comes shortly after they shared a cute Instagram interaction, too. Really laying it all on thick!

And yet, insiders are warning this wasn’t as spontaneous or wholesome as it seemed! Speaking to DailyMail.com on Tuesday, an insider shared:
“He’s been talking for weeks about the right time to publicly say he loves Kylie.”
They added that the actor hoped the speech would “set the record straight” and “shut down the negative chatter” about the romance. In other words, it was calculated AF!
A second insider claimed the whole family was in on it — so he really is becoming Kardashion-ized! They dished:
“Everything that goes through the Kardashians and Jenners is planned, and it was important for both Timothée and Kylie to get the current story of their relationship out there in the way they want it to be.”
The confidant continued:
“They have had their problems, but they wanted the world to know that, as of today, they are okay. They both knew that saying ‘I love you’ was going to go everywhere, she knew where the camera was, it was well-crafted. We will see future PDA at all the upcoming award shows because they both want that to be the story.”
At least it’s not a total lie, we’re glad to hear they’re “okay” these days! The first insider agreed that the couple is on a good path at the moment, chiming in:
“Timothée and Kylie are fully back on. They’ve definitely had bumps in the road, but now they’re stronger than ever. Though, obviously, Timothée made no reference to the break ups in his speech and made it sound like it has been smooth sailing all along — but that isn’t the case.”
Why say anything at all? Why not let the chatter die down on it’s own? Well, a big reason the Call Me By Your Name star wanted to address their otherwise fairly private romance so publicly is because he wanted to send a message to all their haters:
“The haters don’t really bother Timothée because he hardly ever reads what they have to say, but Kylie does and she’s been upset by it and that upsets him. … It’s another reason he’s been wanting to set the record straight about his love for her. He wants to try his best to shut down the negative chatter.”
Aw. Trying to make his girl feel better!
As for what’s changed for them to go from nearly splitting to A-OK? Well, it appears Timmy’s had a change of heart — and there has been “talk of children” as he thinks about his future with the reality star more seriously, the first confidant claimed. Whoa! He’s serious about wanting to become a father!
It really sounds like they’re in a good place right now. But how long will that last? Is it just to get them through awards season? What happens when he’s off filming again and distance gets in the way? Everything could change! Enjoy the PDA while it lasts, y’all.
