It’s officially the end of the road for Amy Schumer and Chris Fischer.

After weeks of speculation and sad breakup revelations on social media, court records now show the comedian has formally filed for divorce, making the split legal — and very real. The filing just went through this week in New York, per reports, quietly closing a chapter that began with a whirlwind romance and a low-key wedding back in 2018.

Per People and others, the official date of separation based on when the docs were filed is January 6. And so, that’s that.

Ugh.

As Perezcious reader know, Amy and Chris — who share 6-year-old son Gene — have consistently framed this breakup as respectful, and that tone seemingly hasn’t changed now that lawyers are involved.

At one point, Amy reassured her followers that she and Chris were still married, even as chatter swirled. Later, she acknowledged the strain of a long-term relationship while acknowledging her long health journey. And by mid-December, the breakup truth was out. Amy announced the split herself, emphasizing love, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to co-parenting.
