Megan Thee Stallion & Her Makeup Artist Feud Over Credit For Her Looks On Instagram!

Megan Thee Stallion isn’t afraid to speak her mind!

On Tuesday, the Hot Girl Summer rapper got into a heated exchange with her makeup artist Akil McCoy on Instagram after the 24-year-old Houston star posted a clip of her latest interview with Vogue and apparently neglected to properly shoutout her team!

First, let’s dive right into this feature with the glossy’s YouTube, which details what a day in the life is like for the ever-confident rapper. Although the video boasts 24 hours of footage, we end up with just over five minutes of Megan’s jam-packed schedule.

In case you’re wondering, this includes hanging out with her gal pal Jordyn Woods, grabbing lunch with friends, riding horses with the Compton Cowboys, and plenty of beauty touchups in between.

We’re not kidding either! See if you can count how many times Thee Stallion hits the mirror in the clip (below):

Damn. What a wild ride!! Lots of “driving the boat” and fun times all around, indeed! LOLz.

In the interview, Megan is asked where she learned how to do makeup and she replied:

“One day my grandma just bought me hella eyeshadow from like the Dollar Store probably. I was like 12. When she did that, it was over for these bitches. My mom arched my eyebrows for the first time when I was in ninth grade and I like took over.”

But the performer also gave a shoutout to her MUA Akil who also seems to appear in the clip at one point, too. Speaking on their frequent collaboration on her looks, she added:

“I like Akil a lot and we get into it like every day. ‘Don’t do it like that, don’t put it like that friend.’ He’ll be like, ‘I’m not.’ And he doing whatever the f**k he wanna’ do.”

This sounds like a healthy give and take to us!

But, the drama got started after Megan posted the vid to her IG page and didn’t tag McCoy. He then hopped in the comments and wrote, “Makeup By Akilaface.” The Realer artist then replied to his comment, writing, “@akilaface and me.”

See (below):

As you can see, both sides argued for their own credit where credit is due!

McCoy even took his argument a step further, posting previous looks he claims to have created on his IG story while tagging himself — basically calling BS on Megan!

In a series of since-expired posts, which feature Thee Stallion touching up her eyebrows, he wrote:

“I did this makeup and Megan touched up her eyebrows and put her Mac powder on her face like she does everytime. I do her face. You’ll don’t know the situation and I don’t have to throw shade to get a Fan base. Hate it or love it. And thirdly, I never disrespected anyone. I love the girl. Good Day. I hope EVERY Artist Out There would understand me. The End.”

But does he have a real argument here?

See, while celebrities will frequently tag their stylists, makeup artists, nail techs, etc., on social media – it’s not exactly a requirement. For the record, she did mention Akil by name when the topic came up. He also could’ve just privately texted the Fever star about everything, but instead, he opted to duke this one out in the court of public opinion.

Judging by the hundreds of comments of support for Megan under her post, it appears the move didn’t work out so well for him either…

So, this leaves us here. What do YOU guys think about all of this? Was our girl wrong here, and should celebrities be more proactive about crediting their team?

Sound off in the comments (below)!
