Deadliest Catch Star Mahlon Reyes Dead At 38

Mahlon Reyes, who worked as a deckhand on Discovery Channel‘s Deadliest Catch, has died at the age of 38.

The reality TV star’s wife Heather Sullivan confirmed he passed away in his hometown of Whitefish, Montana after he suffered a heart attack on Saturday, July 25. Per TMZ, Reyes survived the attack and was transported to a nearby hospital, but he never regained consciousness. A day later, the star was taken off of life support while surrounded by his loved ones. Ugh, how incredibly sad…

At this time, the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office says Mahlon’s official cause of death has not yet been determined as they await official autopsy and toxicology results — though the star’s wife told the outlet he did not have any known pre-existing health conditions. That must make his sudden passing feel even more painful.

In the wake of her husband’s death, Sullivan took to his Facebook page and shared a message with fans, which reads:

“Hello everyone this is Heather, we have a memory page for Mahlon, Forever Chim ❤️ Send me a friend request and I can get added Heather B. Sullivan ❤️ He touched so many lives and he is up there smiling and watching over my protector from the sky ❤️”

She has also stated the reality TV star has been cremated and his ashes will be spread by some of his Deadliest Catch co-stars in the Bering Sea.

Nick McGlashan has since mourned the death of his co-star and friend in a pair of Twitter posts this week. In one message, he wrote:

“Love you Mahlonn m v you’re missed. RIP”

He also shared a separate photo of the two together, expressing more of his condolences:

According to IMDB, Mahlon first began appearing on the series back in 2012 and the deckhand quickly became a fan favorite for his work on the Seabrooke and Cape Caution boats. He went on to appear in a total of 14 episodes. He is survived by his wife Heather and his four children.

R.I.P., Mahlon.
