Hey content creators, don’t give up on TikTok just yet!
Following President Donald Trump‘s threat to sign an executive order that would ban the popular social media app in the United States, many of the platform’s users were sent into a tizzy and frantically asked their followers to jump ship and keep up with them elsewhere. Influencers still have to make their money, right?

Well, here’s a piece of good news! TikTok’s U.S. General Manager, Vanessa Pappas, just issued a statement reassuring users their app isn’t “going anywhere.” In a video message shared to Twitter, Pappas said:
“I want to say thank you to the millions of Americans who use TikTok every day, bringing their creativity and joy into our daily lives. We’ve heard your outpouring of support and we want to say thank you. We’re not planning on going anywhere. TikTok is a home for creators and artists to express themselves, their ideas, and connect with people across different backgrounds and we are so proud of the various communities that call TikTok their home.”
The tech executive added:
“I’m also proud of our 1,500 U.S. employees who work on this app every day and the additional 10,000 jobs that we’re bringing into this country over the next three years. I’m thrilled about our U.S. Creator Fund where we just announced our $1 billion fund to support our creators and when it comes to safety and security, we’re building the safest app because we know it’s the right thing to do. So, we appreciate the support. We’re here for the long run, continue to share your voice here, and let’s stand for TikTok.”

This message comes on the heels of reports that Microsoft has held talks to buy the video-sharing mobile app from the China-based parent company, ByteDance. According to Reuters, potential investors have valued it at $50 billion, so this will not be a cheap acquisition — but we’re confident the company that’s now valued at over a trillion dollars can afford it.
Not to mention, with all of this media attention around the app, we have to imagine it’s market price tag might jump even more, right?
