Ewan McGregor’s divorce has been quite a rocky road, but now that chapter has come to a close — with a huge payday for his scorned ex-wife!
To recap: the actor split with his wife of 22 years, Eve Mavrakis, back in 2017, and quickly moved on with his younger co-star Mary Elizabeth Winstead. Just how quickly he moved on — i.e., if the relationship entered affair territory — is unclear. But the reactions of his wife and daughters definitely don’t paint a pretty picture.
Regardless, the somewhat contentious divorce process has now at long last come to an end. People obtained judgment documents from the finalized divorce, and Mavrakis came out with quite a chunk of change. While the couple split their assets, all royalties and residuals from McGregor’s film and television projects during their union are considered community property. In other words, she’s getting that Star Wars money, baby! The prequels made between $600 million and $1 billion EACH, so it’s safe to say that’s a pretty good chunk of change. Ewan’s estimated net worth is — sorry, was — somewhere north of $40 mil.
People also noted that though their separation was listed as May 2017, Mavrakis will also get half of the cash from the 2018 film Christopher Robin, for which the 49-year-old earned another $3 million.
Meanwhile, TMZ reported the Moulin Rouge star will get to keep 30 of his vehicles (McGregor is a known motorcycle enthusiast — he’s actually starring in a new series about them for AppleTV+ in the fall). Mavrakis will retain their house, among other assets, and will receive $35,868 a month in spousal support.
The couple will share joint legal and physical custody of their youngest daughter, 9-year-old Anouk. (Their other three daughters, Clara, 24, Jamyan, 19, and Esther, 18, all being of age.) McGregor will pay an additional $14,934 a month in child support.

And so, the young Obi Wan Kenobi is now free to live out his life with his Fargo and Birds of Prey co-star. The couple appears to still be going strong, though there were rumors back in 2018 of a breakup, allegedly because Winstead “hated being labelled a homewrecker.” At the time, The Sun reached out for comment to Mavrakis, who replied:
“I haven’t spoken to Ewan at all, so I don’t actually know whether they are together or not. I don’t care what he is doing. I don’t know anything about it. We don’t speak and I haven’t spoken to him for some time.”
Oof. That’s cold.
Hopefully things are more amicable between the exes now that the dust has settled, at least for the sake of their daughter. And if not… well, at least Mavrakis can enjoy a VERY comfortable nest egg with this settlement!
