Alan Arkin has sadly passed away.
On Friday (June 30), the Oscar- and Tony Award-winning actor’s sons Adam, Matthew, and Anthony confirmed in a statement that their dad had died at the age of 89.

“Our father was a uniquely talented force of nature, both as an artist and a man. A loving husband, father, grand and great grandfather, he was adored and will be deeply missed,” Alan‘s sons shared in a statement with People.
Alan has been nominated for multiple awards over the years, including four Oscars, three BAFTAs, six Emmys, eight Golden Globes, and two Tonys.
In 1963, Alan won the Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Play for his role in Enter Laughing and he won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Little Miss Sunshine back in 2006.
Alan most recently starred alongside Michael Douglas in Netflix’s The Kominsky Method.
He is survived by his wife Suzanne Newlander and his three sons.
