Amy Schumer is releasing another statement following ongoing backlash to a joke she made about Nicole Kidman at the U.S. Open.
The comedian shared a photo of the actress in the stands watching a match and joked about how Nicole was sitting. Her post almost immediately led to accusations of cyber bullying.
In her initial response, Amy dragged Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher, who were generating headlines after it was revealed that they wrote letters in support of convicted and sentenced rapist Danny Masterson.
She returned to social media on Friday (September 15) to explain her joke and to reveal that she was being bullied by others over her appearance.

“Okay so the joke I was making was the way she was posed didn’t seem like how a human sits. I was not making fun of how she looks. Nicole Kidman is beautiful and one of the most incredible actors of all time,” Amy wrote on Instagram.
She continued in the caption, where she claimed that think pieces were being written about the situation.
“I hope everyone is okay and takes a deep breath including all of the think pieces written on this. You guys good,” she asked. “It wasn’t even a slow news day. North Korea and Russia are getting too close for comfort. There are deadly storms sweeping our world and a man was convicted of rape. But what got your goat was me saying that Nicole kidmans pose was not human like. Breathe y’all.”
Amy responded to those who have been critical of her appearance, writing, “To all of the people who commented on me. I’m so sorry I’m not prettier. Please forgive me. I apologize.”
She also acknowledged that the new post would likely get more of the same. However, she said there were no hard feelings. “To the people who write hateful things below I forgive you as a mother, a woman and most importantly as someone who also likes hot goss. Have a good weekend,” she signed off.
The comedian also recently turned herself into a meme for a different reason.
