Amy Schumer and Chris Fischer may be splitting, but that doesn’t change the love and respect she feels for him.
On Friday, the Trainwreck star took to Instagram to announce she and her husband of seven years are officially ending their marriage after MUCH speculation. In a very Amy Schumer-style post, she wrote:
“Blah blah blah Chris and I have made the difficult decision to end our marriage after 7 years. We love each other very much and will continue to focus on raising our son. We would appreciate people respecting our privacy at this time. blah blah blah not because I dropped some lbs and thought I could bag s basket and not because he’s a hot James beard award winning chef who can still pull some hot tail. Amicable and all love and respect! Family forever.”

Split rumors aren’t new to the now-estranged pair, but this post certainly sealed the deal… But innerestingly enough, within an HOUR before her divorce announcement, Amy took to Instagram to share a separate post praising Chris. With absolutely no whispers of separation!
The very post before her divorce reveal, Amy shared a throwback video from when she underwent endometriosis surgery in 2021. In the footage, which Chris seemingly recorded, the stand-up comedian is coming out of anesthesia while mumbling about having a “blast.” She captioned the post:
“Just found this from years ago pretty. My truest self. Chris dug it. I’ve been through a lot with endometriosis. Tell someone you love they shouldn’t have heavy excruciating periods. @endofound donate along with me today.”

Before announcing their split, Amy declared in a since-deleted Instagram video earlier this month that her and Chris’ shaky marriage “has nothing to do with weight loss or autism.”
