Awkwafina Supports 'Joy Ride' Cast at Special Screening in NYC

Awkwafina is stepping out to support the cast of Joy Ride!

The 35-year-old Golden Globe winning-actress joined Ashley Park, Sherry Cola, Stephanie Hsu, and Sabrina Wu at a special screening of their new movie on Wednesday (June 28) held at The Metrograph in New York City.

Fellow cast members in attendance included Lori Tan Chinn and Ronny Chieng along with screenplay writers Cherry Chevapravatdumrong and Teresa Hsiao.

Awkwafina and Lori‘s Nora From Queens co-star BD Wong also attended the screening.

Here’s the synopsis for Joy Ride: The story of identity and self-discovery centers on four unlikely friends who embark on a once-in-a-lifetime international adventure. When Audrey’s (Park) business trip to Asia goes sideways, she enlists the aid of Lolo (Cola), her irreverent, childhood best friend who also happens to be a hot mess; Kat (Hsu), her college friend turned Chinese soap star; and Deadeye (Wu), Lolo’s eccentric cousin. Their no-holds-barred, epic experience becomes a journey of bonding, friendship, belonging, and wild debauchery that reveals the universal truth of what it means to know and love who you are.
