'Barbie' & 'Oppenheimer' Opening Weekend Box Office Projections Revealed!

The “Barbenheimer” opening weekend is finally upon us!

Two huge movies – Barbie and Oppenheimer – are set to arrive in theaters this weekend, and there’s plenty of speculation about who will rule at the box office.

And now, we know how much studios are projecting each film to bring in during the opening weekend.

Greta Gerwig’s Barbie, led by Margot Robbie, is expected to bring in $95 million to $110 million from 4,200 North American theaters over the weekend, via Variety. The movie cost an estimated $145 million to make.

Warner Bros. is projecting a more conservative $75 million to start, while rivals and exhibitors it could make $140 million in its initial weekend.

Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer, on the other hand, is expected to bring in $50 million from 3,600 cinemas through the opening weekend. Universal’s historical biopic cost an estimated $100 million to make.

AMC Theatres reported that 40,000 people have already purchased tickets for double features of Barbie and Oppenheimer on the same day, up 20,000 from last week. Which one will you be seeing this weekend?
