Bella Hadid was just named the most beautiful woman in the world… Are you surprised?!
The supermodel snagged the title after it was calculated she has what constitutes as the perfect face, according to the Greek Golden Ratio of Beauty Phi which measures physical perfection. The declaration was made by London-based plastic surgeon Dr. Julian De Silva who found Hadid to be the “clear winner” among today’s biggest stars.

In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar on Wednesday, De Silva said he found the 23-year-old’s mug to be 94.35 percent “accurate” to the Golden Ratio after measuring her eyes, eyebrows, nose, lips, chin, jaw, and facial shape, making her the “closest to the ancient Greeks’ idea of perfection.”
Inneresting! But how exactly did this scientific method come about in the first place? And why is it used as the standard for beauty today?
Are we not living in a post-Lizzo era where we know EVERYBODY is gorgeous in their own way?!
Well, it reportedly originated during the European Renaissance and is said to have been used by artists and architects to help during the creation of their masterpieces. Since then, the mathematical equation has been used to determine what makes someone beautiful — with the help of modern computer mapping techniques, too!
De Silva shared more about his research in a series of Instagram posts, starting with our winner (below):
The cosmetic doctor explained the ratio, which focuses on symmetry and proportion, works by measuring the length and width of someone’s face and dividing the number, with the ideal result being 1.6. Other facial measurements are also taken, with a person being “considered to be more beautiful if the numbers are equal.”
He also noted how the tech is “useful when planning patients’ surgery.” Oh, you don’t say?!
It’s been rumored for years Bella allegedly went under the knife or was cosmetically enhanced, but earlier this year, her mom Yolanda Hadid slammed some falsehoods. In response to an Instagram commenter insisting Bella uses fillers, she said:
“None of my children have never done fillers or Botox or put anything foreign in their bodies. They know better after seeing what I went through.”
Well, alright then! So, who did Gigi Hadid‘s sister best for the number one spot?!
…Beyoncé!
Yep — Queen Bey herself came in as a very close second with 92.44 percent, followed by Amber Heard with 91.85 percent, and Ariana Grande with 91.81 percent.
It goes without saying the Bey Hive is not going to be happy about this one, LOLz.
But the physician explained why Jay-Z‘s wife was a runner-up in the ranking system in a second IG post (below):
And gave a little more context on Johnny Depp‘s ex-wife (below), too:
Rounding out the list of the ten most beautiful women in the world, according to their Golden Ratio scores, also include Taylor Swift (91.64%), Kate Moss (91.05 percent), Scarlett Johansson (90.91 percent), Natalie Portman (90.51 percent), Katy Perry (90.08 percent), and Cara Delevingne (89.99 percent).
Wow. We can’t say we’re shocked to see any of these ladies on this list, but we want to hear from YOU! Thoughts on all this, Perezcious readers?
